Hello, I am sort of new to the growing thing. Previous grows have all been outdoors, and did not really have to take care of them that much, only harvested once out of 3 grows bc of weather. Anyways I have some plants that are about thirty days old, and the tallest one is MAYBE 6 inches tall. I am using a 75w reg light, and am planning on going to the store to acquire a better light i.e. HPS or something. I plan on having two plants. My questions are A: why are my plants so small, and B: what light should I get and C: when can i tell the sex of the plant? I will post some cell phone pics until I get my digi back tommorow. I have nutes as well. please drop some lines!

you need way more light...they are stretched.....and try to keep the light fairly close to the tops..

Ok yeah, I actually just put in a 100w bulb for the mean time, from the 60w. I looked at someone else's Grow and they had a ton more growth at the same height, or even smaller? Were those clones? It said something about topping them off. It just seems like they should have a lot more leaves and such since they have been growing for so long :( P.S. the strain is 'white skunk'

if you want more leaves you have to provide the plant with more light.. so it can trigger more growth to accept the light.. the light bulb ur using now, the plant is happy with the leaves it has.. so it doesnt need to create more to absorb... if you add more.. the plant will say "shit.. how am i ganna eat all this light... ok fuck this.. time for new leaves"

easiest way i can put it

Goodluck...

I wouldn't top you plants for a long time you need some growth before you consider that. Work on you light problem first.

a 250-400watt grow light that takes both mh and hps bulbs will be fine for six plants but at first keep the light about 18inches above ya plants and you can lower it bit by bit as they get bigger and stronger but to be safe you shouldnt put the light any less than 10-12 inches above when there strong!when you repot make sure you plant um pretty deep so that they end up atleast half the size they are now and use mh for veg and hps for flowering!good luck.

A) Your plants are stretched and shitty looking because you need WAY more light. That light you're using is ridiculous. Are you even serious about growing? Read through people's posts and the GrowFAQ before you let all your plants die. And how old are you? It looks like a school text book.

B) Since you aren't really serious into growing, I wouldn't suggest anything more than 3 or 4, 42-Watt CFL's.

C) You shouldn't even be thinking of finding out the sex with plants as unstable as those. When it is time for you to find out the sex, you need to use 12/12 lighting to induce the plant into flowering.
