A failure in progress

Ok so my updated shopping list will consist of... 4 23watt 6500k Cfl bulbs for Veg use, and 4 23watt 2700k Cfl bulbs for later on, and 3 Y splitters

As far as the coconut fiber goes here is the info I found online for it as this is what I used...

ProCoir Coco Coir Fiber

An organic growing medium derived from coconut coir. ProCoir is an environmentally-friendly alternative to sphagnum peat moss. Coco fiber can retain 8-9 times its weight in water and has a high nutrient absorption capacity. It can be used alone or as a component in a soilless mix and is often mixed with topsoil to loosen heavy soils. Ideal as worm bedding in vermicompost systems, too!

Unique Features:
• High moisture/ air retention capacity
• Excellent root growth
• Natural substance maintains beneficial microbes
• pH 5.4 to 6.8
• Improves soil drainage
• Alternative to peat moss

Thanks guys your input is very much appreciated!

Whats its ratio like in your soil (same thing as the clone cubes:). If your hittin like 50% than 1" dry might be way too dry. (it will act like a wick so moisture could be uniform throughout your soil mix depending if you used alot of it or not.)

This is just an educated guess based on using the cubes in soil and probably completely wrong, so someone with more experience using shredded coco may have to help. 2 more days :)

The past few weeks have been crazy for me. An ongoing job search in a dwindling job market controlled by a failing economical core is extremely frustrating not to mention time consuming.

I just picked up a few 26 watt cfl's today and got them set up

As you can see the two middle plants were getting allot more light from that shit infra-red bulb than the other plants (one of which died) So they are much more healthy. I'm hoping that with the addition of the cfl bulbs the other plants will catch up.

A few close ups...

An overview of the set up...

As you can see the infra-red is still set up I have it on a two way timer it comes on for three hours in the am and three in the pm to maintain a good temp. in the closet as the cfls produce little to no heat.

I am also using fox farm's big grow in my water now.

I would of waited a little longer for grow big. I hope u started at a 1/4 strength working ur way up. I would prob only give it to em every other week, until they start 'asking' for it.

Also look a lil stretchy, keep those lights as close as possible, without burnin them:) Might wanna add more soil, up to just under the 1 set of leaves, this will hold them up better. Besides that, if u want any chance at smokin ur own product, ur gonna need MORE light. At least 4 more just for veg. Sorry to come of like a dick, I just dont want this to be ' a failure in progress' :):):)
