A couple questions from a first time grower, 21 days in.

Last week, I noticed I'd been giving my girls too much water, so I cut back my watering/feeding cycles. Since then, in spite of the soil still being quite moist (I picked up a moisture meter), I've noticed a few of the lower leaves, the first big ones to sprout, are curling upwards and becoming a bit crispy at the tips.

I read through a couple watering and feeding guides, but couldn't pinpoint the symptoms my plants are currently showing. Any and all help is deeply appreciated.:joint:

need pictures or we'll probably diagnose wrong and make the problem worse

what nutes are you using?
how much nutes?
how often do you feed?
what is the soil ph?
what is the nutrient mix's ph?
what grow medium are you using?

should be able to help if we can get that info.

with leaves curling up and tips dying i would say overfertilizing but it is better have all the info present to make a informed desicion but like i said tips curling up and dying is a classic over fertilization symptom good luck

1) Age Old Organics Grow 12-6-6 and General Organics Cal Mag Blend. The Age Old has zinc, boron, manganese and few other micro nutes.
2) 1/4 of the recommended use. After the initial diluting, I blend with distilled water, so the dose is extremely low.
3) I've fed three times in the past week, extremely low doses.
4) Soil PH: 6.8-7.1
5) I don't have a liquid PH meter. I need to upgrade a few tools, but I monitor the PH before and after feeding, and it may fluctuate a point up or down.
6) The medium is Fox Farm Ocean Forest

I've been using a PPM meter that has three readings: too little, ideal and too much. I've been keeping the plants between the bottom of "ideal" and the middle. Sorry for the delayed response, long day at work. Thanks for your assistance, I'm worrying a bit here. I should also mention that the leaves in question are the first ones to sprout, three pronged leaves, not the traditional fan leaf.

Sorry no pics, I'm having a hard times uploading them to the sight. I'll keep trying. Thanks again.

I found this on another forum. Also, I've been looking through numerous pages of pics on over feeding, on google images, none look similar to mine.

Same thing's happening to my girl at 14 days; inner leaves are curling up with the edges turning a bit brown. I havent added any nutes other than what's already in the FFOF. I'm just going to wait it out and hope for the best :)

so if you using fox farm ocean forest and adding supplemtal fertilizer than the plants are being over feritilized. good soil such as fox farm ocean will provide all your plant needs untill it has used up all the nutes in the pot. i dont know how long it takes to use them but you will know when you bottom leaves start to slightly turn yellow when that happens then start adding fertilized water untill then just water. mtfbwy
