A completly different yeild question!

When stating your plant yield after harvest what does it include, bud only, or everything usable?, bud, trim, larf, etc?
I'm mainly curious after looking at peoples GPW yields and seeing wildly varying numbers. I realize environment, aptitude, experience, etc all effect the outcome, but after seeing similar grows done by similarly experienced folks I've seen huge differences, where you would think they should be close.

For example, i just pulled my first scrog run. I should have trimmed it better, way too much larf..but going just bud it works out to .37 gpw, when i factor in trim, larf, etc it' goes up to .93 GPW. It's all usable material so which is more accurate? Just by changing my input parameters i almost tripled my yield...lol.

thoughts?

I only count what "I" would smoke or sell in my shops......
Dude, you can get over 3 gpw with SOG if you listen to how it's done and how to do it.....Shit, I've seen rotating gardens blow that away! I can't do that here anymore - numbers, numbers, numbers.....

By your complaint of "larf". Do you have enough light to be doing what your doing? Temps and other things can be a major factor in yield too..

So tell us the details and lets see if we can help?

Size of scorg
nutes - list everything you use or add
how often - how much do you feed
what water and same as above - much? often?
soil or hydro
What soil

Peace

I appreciate the help, but not looking to get into that here. I'm interested in how the GPW# is calculated by everyone. As you can see by my example, it can really skew the numbers. I really got thinking about it when looking at what breeders claim for yields. I don't have a vast knowledge, but from what I read some are accurate, as far as after harvest dry numbers, some of them have to be weighing just cut, wet plants....

About my grow, I'll say that next time i do a scrog, I'll have it dialed in way better, it was my first scrog and lack of experience on the net got me. Nutes, environment, lights, etc were all spot on, not my first go. I've tried a few different grow methods over the last year, changing it up each cycle, see what i like. I'm going to work on getting my LP aero/nft rails really dialed in now, i liked that system.

Cool beans! Good luck!

Well, you have my answer on that too....still puzzled as to your "larf"...

I think it was mainly strain related, along with my inexperience on a net like i said. The larfy one was a dp blueberry, I ran a barney's vanilla kush right next to it, 600w hps over each on a 3x3 screen. There's no larf ( leafy thin buds) on the vanilla kush, thick buds right down to the net, easily 2X the weight I got off the blueberry. The blueberry had a dozen or so 12-16" heavy colas, another couple dozen 6-10" colas, that's all I really focused on, but there was a whole other layer of 2-6" buds under the canopy I didn't realize had laid over under everything. The kush was just solid upright colas shoulder to shoulder. Like I said, next time I'll manage my canopy better. And have nothing but donkey dick colas...
