yes its shit and probably started the issues. Try to get some good soil (about $8 bag)mixed with 30% perlite and some blood and bone.

Ok finally added my new medium and perlite.. Now using black kow composted and about 40%% of the soil is perlite got some more nutes with a strongrt N n P hope this works

PH your water, check your soil PH, and don't feed for a week or so, let it get used to the new home.
