9-59-8. Phosphorous When does this need to be used?

I’m three weeks into flower. Some people say use it now. Some people say to wait til the last three weeks. I’m using my local shops full nutrient line, full feed schedule. When should I use a product with 9-56-8 going on?

i think its mainly used in the last few weeks before you flush/harvest

as a ripening and bud fattening tool

Never.

Stick to a balanced feed.
Pretty much that.

It's not really so much that the plant needs more phosphorous during flower as it is you just don't need that much nitrogen. I've always used regular, general purpose Miracle Grow during veg which is 24-8-16 and the tomato formula for flower which is 18-18-21.

I could, if I wanted, just stick to the tomato formula and be just fine...but I've been doing it that way since the beginning and it always works very well. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Or rather I meant what’s going to happen if I use it the last few weeks versus not using it. The shops feeding schedule paper I got from my local shop says to use it during “ripening’. They said that would mean the last three weeks.

Potassium is more key than phosphorus in the ripening process. Sounds like you fell for the stores marketing.

Rule #1. Don't listen to the guys at the local shop that are in the business of selling as many products as they can.

Well they’re there to sell you things so that’s their game sometimes. I don’t buy anything from them except nutrients. Everything besides nutrients and mediums and things is pretty expensive there. But I’m not totally convinced yet they’re trying to pull my leg on this. You have people above that say this plan is one to use too so I’m still not sure who here is correct.

I’ve grown without flushing before I’m aware that is more than likely a myth as far as how it affects your flavor/harshness.

I actually gave my two flowering plants that high phosphorous blend once already at week 2 and week three respectively and they both are doing great they got that watered in maybe four days ago.

Then look outside of the cannabis blogs and see what the real world of botany says.
