8x10 Grow Shed build and setup

Just thought to share with everyone my build.

-8’x10’ with 7’6” ceilings shed package. Built out of 2x4 framing and 1/2 osb sheeting. Insulation is 1” thick foam board from Home Depot. The silver lining looks like a Mylar type material and seen a few others also use. Have to see how long this thin film material will last. Silver ducting tape on all seams.

- 60amp power panel with each receptacle on its own 15amp breaker and ac on 20amp Also importantly installed a surge protector on the panel to protect the ac inverter and all electronics.

-12,000btu Perfect Air Split AC DIY package. This was a very easy system to install for someone without needing an HVAC tech as the system come pre charged.

-4x spider farmer sf2000 leds.

-Fresh air drawn from a home built intake box with a 20x25x5 furnace filter. The box has 2 4” ports for even distribution of intake air on either side of the split ac air exchanger. Currently have one 4” powered fan pushing air into shed but will be adding another as I’m seeing to much negative pressure with only the one as I have a 6” exhaust set on low. The foam walls are being pulled in a bit when the exhaust dumps.

-titan co2 regulator and rain tubing with 50lb co2 bottle. Using a Garden Controls Co2 controller. And Autopilot Co2 level Monitor/logger. Very simple system to operate and has the photosensor to shut off automatically when lights out.

-small humidifier and 6” carbon exhaust fan hooked to an inkbird humidistat to control humidity. I was trying a 70 pint consumer grade dehumidifier at first but was getting to much fluctuation in temps and humidity. This was not providing a stable environment. Temps and humidity would fluctuate min 10 Degrees F and 10% RH. I was hoping to run a sealed environment for the lights on period to conserve cO2 and only air exchange at nite as required for fresh oxygen. So for that last 10 days I’ve been venting for humidity control like every 5 min and the gauge on the 50lb co2 Bottle has not even moved! Seems like conserving the co2 is not really a concern at this point and was running 1200ppm.

- small heater hooked to Inkbird temp thermostat to heat at night.

-CE smart Wi-Fi power barr controlling all 4 led lights as the app has a simple timer/schedule built in and can control from anywhere.

-8” vivosun carbon filter & fan and two isolating wall fans for air movemeant and odour control.

Just have to just finalize and tidy up the enviro controllers wiring once I figure out what to do to stabilize the humidity without venting. Seems that I need a dehumidifier that does not have such a wide band of operation ( on off cycles)

By the way this is my first grow and plants are at 8 weeks Veg.

Any feed back is appreciated.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you spend on building materials? Just lumber and insulation panels. This is exactly the kind of thing I am looking to do. Well, less a shed and more a room but the build would largely be the same.

Flippin sweet space you are building out.

My 50-pint consumer dehuey does the same - 10% swings. Set it to 50, it waits til 55 to kick on, then brings it down to 45 and kicks off until back up to 55. No aware of anything better, at consumer level. All ears.

I’m just going to keep exhausting for humidity control. I tied a 40 pint and same crap. The heat from it causes the ac to kick on then it over dehumidifies and then the humidifiers kick in just been chasing my tale

That filter box is sexy. Calling my name. Lol

I'm not experienced with a room that big.
I'm small time hobby.
Because it's winter I'm running my 4x8x8 room with the AC off. Running Co2 @ 800ppm. Controller vented as needed to maintain temp. Dehuey also running set at 50% day, 35% night.

No cost of running AC, but increased usage/cost of Co2.

Here's a good read from down under....

Thanks that’s a very good read. I’ve seen a few pieces of that snipped and posted in a few places.

Our split ac is running the Cielo app. As for the Rh and temp monitoring I’m running the inkbird, unfortunately this is only Bluetooth. I do like the idea of Wi-Fi models but couldn’t t find any really that caught my attention. I’ll look into the gw1000

Hey man, don't know if you have bought all your lights yet, but I am planning to order two HLG 550 from alibaba, will cost $540 USD including postage for two of the boards. Seem better and cheaper than the SF boards as you are buying straight from the manufacturer no middle man costs:

Just cause they steal the HLG 550 name, dont mean they are the same lights HLG sells.

just a fyi, baba sells nice knockoffs but thats exactly what they are, knockoffs....The knockoff thread is filled with thousands of posts about alibaba lights , they are growing very nice weed, but dont get it twisted, they arent legit HLG 550s

HLG source their stuff from the exact same place. They are not knockoffs, they are simply unbranded items. You can ask them to customise and add a logo and color etc. That is what companies like HLG do. They mass order, get customized logo and color schemes. Suppliers have told people in the past to just order from one of their distributors and it was HLG. China manufactures everything in the world. Trade assured, EC etc companies are putting out exactly the same stuff. Look at the PAR readings.
