this is purely hypothetical.

a growing unknown strain from clone, assumed indica, has 4 tops, 10 budsites total.
80 day deadline until indoor cultivation is no longer an option.

which would provide better results.

SoG for 80 vs 12/12 for 80?

Do u only have one clone, a sea of green usually has many plants under a screen. With only 80 days u can stretch/veg for about 3 weeks then switch over imo start asap. U can still train & top to fill up a small screen.

I dont think you know what a sog is. It's a sea of green. Many small plants yielding small bud, but making up for lack of bud sites, by sheer number of plants. You might mean scrog, screen of green? It's when you train one plant under a fance for example for an even canopy and many apex's. Which you would veg for a few weeks. Then switch to 12/12. Neither of these methods are light specific, so I don't get what you mean.

You can fill a small screen and try to keep the canopy even. but it would jus be best to top the tops and lst. BTW wat other lights are u gonna use.

Who is right?

The question which was asked was referring to multiple plants of small size, growing in the same soil-bed in contrast
to causing a plant with 10 budsite to flower. all within a deadline of 80 days.

No screens where mentioned.

i am not refering to scrog.

which method would result in higher yeild; Sea of Green or 12/12 as is?
4 tops translates to 4 potiential clones.

Sea of Green: focusses on a singular main colas growing them as big as possible with preferbly no side branching. The area to grow is maximized by placing as many plants in relative small pots as possible. No screen is used.

Screen of Green: focusses on side branch distribution to an as wide area as possible to maximize the grow area filling it out with only a few plants in big pots. The screen is used here to tie down larger growing bud sites to try and keep them all at the same height and keeping the light as close as possible without burning any bud sites.

12/12 : is just a light on light off schedule. has nothing to do with SoG or Scrog, apart from it being the default flowering schedule.

In order to go in for 80 days, you need to flower asap, relative short vegetation. Asssuming an aprox 8 weeks flowering periode, you have just about two weeks for vegetive phase, Might be an idea to adopt the 18/6 light schedule during those 2 weeks vegetive state, just to get the little plants to stretch as far as possible before you flip them to 12/12. What I would recommend is doing a 24 or 36 hours dark periode to kick start the blooming before you take on the 12/12 schedule.

Possible issue: your plants may not be done flowering in 80 days if its a 8+ weeks flowering plant/strain.

Very Good information thank you.

Also just to clarify/reiterate the question for those who may not understand; given a time span of 80days
should a plant as picture and described be chopped into 4 and rushed to bud. or would it be best to flower now as 1 plant.
first post of this thread has the word indica in it.

Very fucking simple question
