8 Week of Flower - Leaf Browning

I also think that i added to much acid to the heavy watering i did a week ago.

For some reason i thought my pH meter was reading higher than normal after i needed more acid than usual to drop the pH into the 6-6.5 range that i usually aim for.

I bought solution packs to calibrate and when i put the meter into the 4.0 solution it read 6.7 and the calibration process kept giving me an ERR message, so i threw out the meter. Now im wondering how low the pH of thst heavy water really was.

yea I have strips to always test my meters , im still waiting for a new on in the mail I go thru them once a year maybe but its not much cost for sense of security

I learned that lesson the hard way. I dont think id have this problem if it wasnt for that watering. Couple that with reduced nutes and i could be reducing my yield.

Glad i finally joined the forum, rather than being a passerby, trying to compare and deduce answers to questions without getting actively involved and direct communication.

You were right the first time. light burn/heat damage. more surface area exposed to light than the colas. that's why the difference. that and the colas are dense and hard to penetrate while the flat leaf surface is easy for light to penetrate and damage. If pH were really a problem the rest of the plant would be affected.

Im not convinced that its the light and or heat damage. The plant has been the same distance from the light for over 3 weeks, so there has been no change in light intensity. Would it take 3 weeks to burn, and then do so rapidly over 3 days? Ive also decreased the heat in the tent in that time. Its also my 3rd grow with the same CMH light in the same tent. Im over 24" from the top cola to the light/heat source.

Could this be a humidity issue that is allowing the light source to penetrate the leaves differently? I have reduced the humidity down below 45%, as low as 33% has been recorded.

I guess im more convinced that the leaf represent a deficiency caused by a deficit in nutrients, whether the result of me witholding them or the influence of really low pH water. The sudden onset of the issue has me examining variables that have changed, rather than those that have remained constant

Followup post here...

After buying a PH meter i realized that when adding my Herculean Harvest and my Aphrodites Extraction to my tap water the PH entered a perfect area of around 6.5. I was adding acid unnecessarily due to my faulty meter and therefore my high runoff test wasnt accurate.

I returned to feeding the plant a ppm of 600 or lower and the issue stopped. Plant is looking great and is really beginning to fatten up now.

From this experience ive learned to routinely test your PH meter for accuracy. Ive also learned not to mess with a good thing. If the plant is healthy looking, DONT flush. Im now starting to fall into the camp of people saying flushing is for toilets. Lower your nutes, water as it needs, and finish her off on her time.

Stay out of your own way.

Appearance of edge burn like that on the top is calcium not getting absorbed as much as necessary. Late in flower at the top i wouldn't worry too much. If ph is corrected it should stop...but plant looks good i wouldnt worry at all.
