At first I had the light a little to high I believe and the seedlings stretched a tad. image.jpgI then moved the light down to 12 inches and this happened....

I started using nutrients may 3rd with a half dose of canna start and a 1/4 tsp superthrive. Ph’d to 6.4 since I was using a peat based medium I knew the run off would be right around 5.9-6.0

May 8th
I transplanted two plants outdoors into there final pot 30 gallon smart pots. The first to go out were a fat banana and a marmalate. These went out into the swamp. Getting 10-12 hours of direct sun a day .

Alright enough of the past, time for the present. Brought the rest of my plants outside today besides the two that I will be flowering soon.

So my plants are in a dense swamp. I walked through a foot of mud getting to my plants today. Got to my plants looked down and I had 3 ticks crawling up my legs... whatever. Looked down again there’s two more !! After I got done I had a total of 18 ticks !! that's nuts! Then next to my plants I saw two snakes guarding the plot.

The two plants in the 30 gals are stretching... the fat banana and marmalade35DDB5B7-787E-4662-8A0D-73B1AAD6B8E4.jpegAAAB40C8-51F6-422E-B9A9-C4ED678EECF9.jpeg
Then I have 4 plants in 5 gals D4E6FB50-B9D3-4FA2-BAF4-B22E220D19A4.jpegF78FC8DD-0931-4CED-A0D2-5D8B2EA3220E.jpeg048E3716-DC86-4C82-AB63-167E9D5BEC55.jpeg

Haha I hear ya !! I always go right home and shower usually anyway so the ticks don’t bother me. It would be different if you just let them dig in . But yeah between the snakes, mud, ticks and a shit ton of mosquitoes I don’t think people will be venturing very deep into this swamp. Swamps and cornfields seems like the best places if done correctly.

I saw some of your pics on the New England thread. Those you had last year in the swamp got pretty decent size ! How much direct light are you getting ?

Quick question... looking at the 2- 30 gallon smart pots the banana and the marmalate. When I transplanted they were in 1 gallon pots. A one gallon to a 30 gallon. I’ve noticed that they have stretched a decent amount. A thick healthy stalk but have not bushed out any ? The 5 gallon pots have much more growth and have only been outside half the time.

Could growth be delayed until roots reach the fabric walls ? Or is it a totally different issue ?

Thanks !!

To go with the above question. The fat banana in the 30 gallon. Is it stretchy because of 1 to 30 gallon transplant ?

The two in the 30 gallon pots have stretch even more they have been outdoors for three week now. They don’t show any flowering signs like the blue cheese does and they have been out longer in the same exact location.

The 30 gallon plants stems are very hollow and soft !! They are very wide but very thin walled ...7A15AEDA-9C27-4588-A78C-6203EE0020B1.jpeg

Some people keep putting clones out all summer. The more the merrier if you've got a spot(s) for them.

Also if you have a particular plant you think might be a winner outdoors, it's always good to have a clone of it going inside. Everybody seems to have a plant or two they grew outside they wished they kept a clone of due to potency or some favorable growth characteristic, mold resistance etc. Your plants look good btw. Nice job.
