i dont understand celcius what does that mean in fahernheit? alot of the people on here are north american Canadian or American me included haha. but 2 be honest man i most just run by feal but i keep like 18 inches between the light and the canopy and i run multiple 400 watters so i can put them a lil closer, if your running 600w or 1000w lights i believe you need 2 keep them even further. also you can get cheap box fans for like 15-20$ at most stores that carry home appliances that help alot and last forever and dont weigh much at all.

im running a 400w too and this is the first summer for me running it. i had to get an air conditioner or my temps would be going up into the 100's. my strain is pretty hardy but i think that would torch it. now my temps stay under 90 and thats all my plant needs.

yah man damn i dont know what 2 tell you. i wish i could help. i run two 400watters side by side and i use 1 somtimes 2 box fans once their big buds 2 stop mold n mildew, 15$ box fans from walmart and i dont have heat problems as long as i keep enuff room between my plants and lights. what i do is blow the 1 fan directly up into the light so the air is blowing right 2wards the bulb area n it really blows the heat away some. and then blow the other 1 onto the plants. and water them with cool water. sounds like you might need a small A/C unit? i set my grow setup right like on top of my AC vent too, i think that helps as well nice cold air blowing right into the middle of my garden.

Growing in DWC (superlocker 2.0) Hey does anyone know if the 8 ball kush should be trimmed based on genetics of the plant? Starting flowering tonight (12/12 after about 42 days from seed), so I'm thinking about trimming some of the lower leaves ?? Experts please

i topped and fimmed two plants out of my four, and those two plants are twice the size of the others that were not topped or fimmed. so i would say yes go for it! worked super well for me, i also cut alot of fan leaves off with no problems

Yes, you can trim some of the lower leaves. I would also suggest trimming off the lower to lowest bud sites, unless you have a 400 or greater HPS. Unless you like popcorn bud. Something I wish I had done during the grow.
Next Grow F 001.jpgNext Grow F 002.jpgNext Grow F 003.jpg As this was part of my first grow I have learned alot of things to do and not to do. Total weight of dried bud was 20.6 grams, it has been curing for a week now, has a skunky oder but not real strong, smokes real smooth and not harsh, a good strong buzz that lasts for a while and has an earthy taste and a bit sweet.

Its been a while and there almost a few weeks into flower (10 days) and there looking good! they have suffered some heat burns i believe? alot of yellow burns marks on leaves just randoms spot usually the most exposed leaves to the light and temps have been high with the heat im doing all i can to keep it down! but should make for some dense bud with high heat and humidity. All the plants have a few hairs some more then the others, suprisingly the blue hash clone has flowered pretty large compared to the rest. Im going to do a full blue hash grow i think next time im super impressed with that plant. The plants have really filled out though alot of leaves, and i have been trimming alot leaves just keep sprouting, but i guess thats a good thing. The roots are crazy though popping out of the top of the coco. i can see why people love growing in this stuff ive never seen a root system like this for these size plants. The biggest guy is at 34cm tall. here are the babbiesssIMG_20120608_194223.jpgIMG_20120608_194252.jpgIMG_20120608_194307.jpgIMG_20120608_194325.jpgIMG_20120608_194331.jpgIMG_20120608_194343.jpgIMG_20120608_194356.jpgIMG_20120608_194413.jpgIMG_20120608_194436.jpgIMG_20120608_194452.jpgIMG_20120608_194508.jpgIMG_20120608_194528.jpgIMG_20120608_194535.jpgIMG_20120608_194549.jpgIMG_20120608_194621.jpgIMG_20120608_194645.jpg

Also switched there feeding to "Tiger bloom" so there getting that a few times a week now along with a feeding of molasses almost every watering get these things sweet and swollen! also still giving them piranha once a week, the roots are just killer so keep going with what is working i guess, i did a half feeeding today, got half dyno-gro and then later on got half a feeding of fox farm try to ease them in, aswell as some molasses today. Prob do my regular sunday flush tomorrow, and back to full feeding next week, the last few days have popped a ton of hairs so hopefully this week is a big one

Damn....didn't take you long to get the grow bug...lol. Nice setup and this grow will be a good one. You won't be disappointed with the 8 Ball, I only wish I had a few more seeds. It was the softest smellin plant while growin but once I cut it and trimed for dryin it was like I let a skunk loose in my closet. Grilfriend smoked it after I dried for a week and cured roughly 2 weeks, said it was strong body buzz, gave her the munchies, and lasted a couple hours.

Keep up the good job I'm still watchin.

Happy Growin!!

ahhh amazing to hear that! ya the 3 8balls smell super light and fruity except the one is skunk, ive heard nothing but good about the bud on the 8ball but the plant just seems to suck to grow. Maybe its just me, but im really looking forward to seeing these guys go. They sprouted a ton more hairs over night after switching nutes yesterday, and its looking good! have some more pics in a few days

I'll tell you this for all the trouble I had growing it I would surely grow it again, as it turned out pretty nice. So far the only other plant I want to grow again is the Papaya I got from Nirvana, pretty fast growin and finished real quick. That is another one the GF liked alot.

The babies are coming along another week past. The little one is really struggling, all old growth is dying leaf set by leaf set. the leaves on the bottom go yellow from the outside in and then curl up and fall off, i think its a phosphorus deficiency could be potassium to, but i cant seem to give the plant enough, the roots dont seem to be eating up the water fast enough, the plant is budding and still growing but i can tell the root system isnt near the other 3 plants and its dying slowely, i have upped to tiger bloom as its reg feeding like i was doing but the off days that were just water are now dyno-gro that i used for veg to give it more to eat. The other 3 plants are really nice, the two have yellow water leaves and im not sure what the deficiency is if you guys could help me out. The plants i didnt top or fim (plant number 2) is sugar really nice bud coming from it, the plants are also smelling wonderful cant wait till there done another month im thinking.

It sounds like you got to much nitrogen in the nute mix, which will cause the leaves to burn and turn yellow. I'd flush with some pH'd water and make sure you are using a bloom or flowering based nutes and continue to pH your water after mixing. They do look lovely, I'd be proud of them!
