70w HPS or 150w HPS

I'm building a growbox out of 2 30 gallon rubbermaid containers for 4-5 plants. I am about to buy either a 70w HPS light to hang from the top and put a few 2100k CFLs in the box as well. Or a 150w HPS to put in the box. The containers will be stacked on top of one another. There will be a rectangle cut in the bottom with tower fan pushing air in, and a computer fan at the top pushing air out through a carbon filter. My question is which will be cooler. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

SparkNotes: 70w HPS + 4 CFLs or 150w HPS. Which will be less likely to melt the plastic.

I'd go w/ the 150w hps...but I did just find 70w hps fixtures at lowes for 25 bucks a pop... I almost bought em'...wish I did now as I could use some more lighting in the red spectrum in the veg room

Hah... I'd recommend the 150 watts for sure. But for a nice broad veg spectrum definitely add some cfls
back to my day...

where is that 150w hps in the link, the link won't work for me ...and I can't find a $20 150w hps fixture and bulb on the website

You probably didnt open it twice. Well If you go to "Vapor-tights" then to the 150 watt hps all the way on the left you will find a 150 watt hps fixture, ballast and lamp.

Nice thanx DtD, good find... a couple of those =40 clams 300w HPS in my 4x6 veg room along with my diy 800 w cfl fixture for my mommies & I'll be g2g...thanx again for the good find and quick reply...HAVE SOME REP BRUTHA...

Sounds nice...I'd pop one or two cfls's in your veg room for more light on the blue side of the light scale.

hey i was just wondering under wat catagory were those hps lights under at lowes cuz i was online look'n for them and can't find em if they r rly only 25$ damn i would like to pick up a couple..???..plz maybe u can send me the link thank much appreccaited.!

The one's I saw were in the store so I don't know at the website
