is a 70 watt hps enough to grow a plant and bloom it? how many lumens do they put out? would it be worth 40-50 bucks? how many grams would i get?

Yes, I started that way years ago. It has roughly 6300 lumens which is about right for a 1 square foot micro grow. Yes, it will pay for itself easliy after your first plant. There's way to many factors to say whay your yield would be to including genetics, growing technique, if and how badly you mess up the first time, etc. Perhaps 1/2 to one ounce, maybe 1 1/2 if everything goes perfectly. It's hard to say.

Let me know if you can get a 70w HPS for cheaper than HTGSupply's 150w HPS ($69)

If not, go with 150w! If you want... otherwise 70w HPS ya! 8-)

12/12 from seed is a super fast stealth type grow, it flowers as soon as it comes through the soil, often yeilding anywhere from .3g/per watt to 1g./per watt
mostly ending with a single fat cola on a stem, lol.

Dude, dont even bother with a 70w hps. Get 250w or better yet a 400w. If you get the 70w you will be happy at first but when you really get into this hobby your gonna want to grow more. Then you will need to buy a bigger light anyways. TRUST ME!

thanks man:) u guys r fuckin sweet. ive learned soooo much from u people:) im gonna do that 12/12 thing. how many lumens do u think i would need just for like 2-3 plants? i got 3 19 watt cfls and a 4 foot floresent tube fixture. would that work or do i need hids? should i use 3000k or 6000k lights?

Pretty much all lights work. Results vary though! Go for it! Though I'd up to the 150W 'equivalent' CFLs in the 2700K range for flowering (12/12).

The 150 watt from HTG Supply is very nice. High quality unit, long cord to ballast too. I have mine in a 24" x 20" x 48" space and am VERY happy with the results. Easy to control the heat too....easier then my other space with 9 CFL's.

the 250w Hps from HTG supplies is the way too go... anything works. But 250w will give you the quality of a 400w system it will just a little short on the yield. I love my 250w but i wish i had saved up and got the 400w if that helps any... Also you can get a hortilux bulb that has added blue color to it.. mines a 250w with a 35,000 lumen out put... im also very stoned off this blueberry hash i picked up at the allgood festival. anyone attend?

whatt??? a 150 watter will give you about a 2' x 2' area
thats what i planned to use.. 15,000 lumens in that small area will be enough for around 4 plants the 12/12 wayy
