70% Amber

Someone harvested at 70%. Isn't this FAR too late and how noticable will the reduction in the high be?

Would it be worth buying an O of or do you think i should buy properly harvested shit cause it will not be potent.

And from what I've heard amber hairs degrade thc to cbn which represents -90% potency, not to mention cbn gives a worse high so it's more likely to just be like weak weed?

Its impossible to answer this.

I believe not ALL the THC will be degraded in even amber trichromes, just much/most of it.

If you're starting with really strong stuff, even if half or even more of the cannabinoids are degraded, its still going to be "OK". IE, imagine having to smoke a whole joint instead of only a few hits.

On the other hand, if you're starting with weak weed, losing a bunch of potency will be really bad.

And then there is cost. Even if the stuff isn't all that great, it might be worth buying if you can get a great price for it. Weak weed is still fine for cooking with, or even possibly making hash.

So my answer is that you can't establish a dollar value for weed of unknown quality, and its impossible to know whether or not you "should" buy any.

What I would say is that if you want the best possible stuff. . .pass.

If you don't mind stuff that isn't the best, my suggestion is to try before you buy. You should only need a few hits to know how good the stuff is, and what its worth to you.

If its not good, you're not out very much, if at all, and you don't have to buy any more.

You can always offer what you think the stuff is worth after trying it.

If you can't try before buying. . .pass.

I think the OP is talkin about amber hairs.

Check your trichs bro. The trichs will let you know when they're done.

Well, if you are talking about amber HAIRS (ie pistils), that's a totally different thing. Many strains *should* have all amber hairs at maturity.

I'd add that the color of the trichromes in the dried product may not be the same as during harvest, which is when you're supposed to evaluate them for maturity.

Again, your best bet is simply to try a little bit, and see how you like it before committing to an ounce.

If the seller won't let you pay for a small sample to try before buying, you have your answer. . .don't buy. If the stuff is good, he should have no problem letting you buy a bit, because he knows you'll like it and want the rest.

In fact, if the stuff is really good, and if you know the seller and/or are a regular customer, he should probably just GIVE you a sample, again, knowing you'll like it and buy the rest.

Smoke some, sample a hit, take a taste,.......... you never know till you try.... ANY.... weed for that matter. you might be "yeah!!!!! this is what I've been looking for all these years" I like 70%-80% ...sometimes. Also people react differently to sativa/indica, 20% amber, all cloudy, 80% amber, you have to dial in your needs. I like a 40% cloudy 30% amber indica for wake & bake, a 30% clear 70% cloudy sativa throughout the day & a 75% amber indica a couple hours before bed & as needed for pain. Two different strains Blueberry x NL & Jacks cleaner bx bongsmilie :peace:

We're talking about Trichomes here right?...... the only thing hairs are going to tell you is that's she's a girl & maybe some early stress signs.

That's a little contradictory ......... being you "like" Big buddah cheese's comment "that person knows how to grow" :blsmoke:

No it's not too late, many growers wait for 70%...... it's a personal preference. That's what is meant by the other comments....... "couch lock" ...... "wheel chair weed" ..... "it'l be heavy"....... Not a reduction in high........ but a change in effect. Uplifting cerebral--- sedated body. bongsmilie:peace:

Potency and the scope of the stone are far more dependent on the strain, itself, than the color of its trichs. You're not even growing the stuff. Smoke a bud and you'll know its quality. This isn't rocket science.
