7 week cycle practical?

Just wanted to get some thoughts on how practical a 7 week cycle would be. Basically, you'd put the plants in 12/12, take a cutting or two from each plant 1-3 weeks in and then harvest in 7 weeks.

There aren't many strains you can do this with - California Hash plant is about the only one I can think of with a flowering time this low, but I'm sure there are others.

Guess my question is, is it worth having a cycle time this short? You basically get just short of one extra harvest a year, but if your yield per harvest drops (or quality), then it might just be extra labor for nothing.

Thoughts?

Personally I think you'd be better off doing a continual harvest rotate in plants every 30 days. It is subject to problems too. But it works out well if nothing goes wrong . Like bugs or a batch of clones fails or gets stunted.

I never got the point of continual harvests. Not really an option with a hydro system anyway, unless you want to build two separate systems.

Or just have a ton of individual DWC buckets and spend at least an hour, sometimes 4+ on your garden a day...But hard work is satisfying, and if you love your hobby......

Running 9 week flowering cycles, vegging 6 weeks, and putting plants in flower every 3 weeks...I'm putting my 2nd set of plants into flower tomorow, so it's not concrete, but I'm thinking 2 large DWC plants harvested every 3 weeks...

When you veg 'em 6 weeks, you get big plants...I'm running a 400w hps and 385 actual watts CFL's, but I'm planning on getting a dimmable 600w hps in there with the 400w to cover 6 large plants at a time...Just gotta add back water to 6 buckets a day, and the vegging plants can be on the same system......

But I think 9 week finishers are the way to go, harvesting every 3 weeks, and you can choose if you wanna veg for 3 or 6 weeks, as long as you start new seeds/clones every 3 weeks, and transfer a set to flower, you should get a harvest every 21 days!

It takes a while to get everything going, but once you do and get the kinks worked out, I imagine it's gonna be fun harvesting every 3 weeks!

Yup, and I'm putting that theory into practice right now...lol...Tomorrow is 3 weeks in flower, i'm starting more plants tomorrow, and throwing a set in to flower as well...The plant that have ben flowering 3 weeks so far are pretty happy, too!

Or do this but spend 20 minutes once a week on the lot of them ;)
Huh? haha...I can't imagine only spending 20 minutes a week on my garden...I could get away with 20 minutes every other day, if I hustle...I dunno, I could go away for a weekend and come out just fine as long as everybody is topped off and looking happy!

a 7 wk cycle could work but you'd be limited to only a handful on strains. there are more than the ca hashplant that finish in 7 weeks but theres not many. 8 weeks is generally standard for indicas usually.

you may wanna do some google searches as far as 7 wk flowering strains go.
