the plant is just now showing signs of budding but i am in position where i need to dig it up and transplant it what do i do??

it will survive if you can dig it out enough .
It might work fine depending on if theres anything in your way of digging that deep.
i would dig all around it and try do dig under the bottom of the roots ,thats what i did but the plant was only like 2 feet tall and its fine now
and pick it up from the roots and hang on to the stem so it dosnt snap or put to much pressure and disconnect from the roots.
