I have a wonderous bunch of pest troubles more then likely comming from my soil[i never sterilized it]

If I re pot my plants, shaking off all the dirt and put them into a new medium[Organics more or less, ive learned i want to be away from nutes] Will this be adiquate stress to cause some balls n' bud?[Hermies]

If so, what can i do with this crappy ass soil. I was a fucking idiot and also mixed my soil with some from outside, which is more then likely where all this critters came from.[im handling them fine now tho] Some of the critters include Spider mite and Gnats. Whats to come next...geez. God really wanted to give me some learnin' expieriences or something lol geez. Spent over 100 on pest control alone.[Also to prepair for future pest, as this will surely not be my last grow]

ur good
its better to transplant early...imo

Thanks for great quick responses!! As usual the community is better then google xD

anytime you use soil from outside youre going to want to bake it in the oven, it smells like shit but it kills pest and sanitizes, good luck

very true baking the soil works... but as he said- smells like shit lol so just spend 5 bucks and buy some soil next time :) :eyesmoke:

well i have always used MG potingsoil for flowering plants if you do this dont give the plants any nuts for 2 weeks and when you repot wash the roots of with water to ensure there are no pest eggs on the lil bit of soil left around the roots... good luck and happy growing

Well i did, i just thought[ignorantly] that it was a good compost to mix it with. That's me being impatient for ya. But I've learned my mistakes, believe me. I hope I don't kill my babies, but im still paranoid as hell that my moola spent on this project is gonna go poo-poo

+rep to all that helped btw, can't thank rollitup's community enough. My plant's would have beed dead on day three with out ya guys!!

Shouldn't you bake store bought soil? I've heard they can be infested as any other, just not a high % rate of that happening..

This can be done but if the plant is in veg then i would go for change of soil. But if the plants are in the flowering period then there is no way i would risk loseing a good crop.Or even if the crop is bad then i would just try and fight the pest rather than transplant. The next crop you will now have learnt a valuble lesson about soil you want a soil with no additives just plain old composs. The mix that i use is compost with a mix of perlite 80% compost 20% perlite,You will find with organic mixes that these are more proan to pest been in them because of the way it is made.A good compost is put through a heat process that boiling steam kills any little critters liveing in it.

Very true, store bought can be infested, however I haven't really had issues yet.. Frankly, I'd love to be able to grow outdoors, but with the weather my area has had this summer (rain, and more rain) I doubt they would've survived lol. Vegetable garden looks great tho lol. Nothig better then gettin baked and picking your munchies fresh off the vine... MMmm... anyways I'm too stoned to keep typing lol

Good luck with your grow dude!
