in my next grow im gonna be using mostly 68 true watt/300 equal watt CFLs. its only my second grow and im growing bag seeds atm. but in my frist grow i just put all the lights i had in the room for flowering so that was 2 68 watters 2700k, 4 23 watters 6500k, and 4 23 watters 2700k. and got just over 3 ounces from 3 plants no cropping or trimming or lst in 12 weeks in soil (9 flower, 3 veg from seeds). i know given the number of variables in there it means nothing but i was fairly happy for it being my first grow, granted nothing great but all my friends said it was a great smoke. as i did no lst or cropping i only had one cola per plant but the smallest one was just over 5 grams dry and the biggest was 9.8g cured. love the pix tho and thanks for the view.

Wow... A lot of Trolls up in this bitch. I suggest rationally minded people employ the ignore function and stick by it.

Sticky23 has not stated how old these buds are. They are most clearly, at best, midway through flowering. Perhaps 20 to 30 days old.

I am sure this guy has grown before. I am sure this guy is excited to see his buds forming more vigorously. But everyone here on their fat ass high horses are comparing their finished products to what they think will happen over the next 4-5 weeks of growth. Any grower worth their salt knows that a lot can happen between the middle and the end of flowering.

Yeah, if he pulled them now and trimmed them... Of course they will be pinner nugs... They aren't mature yet dumb shit. Give the guy the time he needs and then you can whip it out for the dick measuring contest. Until then, stfu, gtfo.

There's no harvest shot of the OP's buds. This simple fact alone makes the comparisons I've seen here absolute Bull Shit.

Sticky23. You are dead on. It is my opinion anyone in here ripping you for cutting out the 2700K is intentionally misleading growers.

I was pleased with the results of these 5 clones taken from a Kandy Kush x Skunk Mother and put straight into 12/12 lighting with about 200w of CFL bulbs in a little 18"x24"x18" cupboard located under. No 2700K in sight. Each harvested around 20 grams. I would wait until they couldn't hold themselves up under the weight of themselves before harvesting. In the first picture many of those plants had another week left.

I chose all daylight because I know that the spectrum the plant needs is a far right part of red, effectively outside of the range of a 2700K bulb. Color temperature is an "averaging" of the light energy as it relates to the color spectrum. 2700K bulbs contain mostly orange and far left red, with very little far right red. A color temperature that more accurately mimics the red light a plant benefits from in flowering is 2100K. These bulbs contain more far right red and the lower temperature makes that easy to see.

Some people think that 2700K soft white is good enough... when it comes to CFLs it isn't like you have a lot of options, but I just don't see it this way. I figure if I'm going to be dropping only 50w of energy into a plant then I want that energy to be utilized. There is too much lost on the soft white bulbs, but daylight spectrum can be found in everything from 5000K to 7000K which provides a full and diverse amount of light. The amount of PAR available in daylight bulbs compared to Soft White makes the use of Soft White laughable in any other configuration than supplemental.

All of this is a moot point if you're going to spend more than $80 on CFL lighting. By then you may as well invest in a 150w HPS system that you could drop a Ceramic Metal Halide in, or just run a 2100K HPS bulb.

I just want you to know this site isn't 100% dick heads. I think your grow looks just fine for about 150w - 200w of CFL bulbs so long as they are 1/2 way finished +/-. Thank you for sharing your results and your input.

I said he could do better and his buds were not amazing, and that i meant no offense by it, maybe i took his response to me a little personal, but whatever, i could of went off on him but instead i chose to laugh, not at his grow, but at his attitude.
