While I'm building out my basement this winter I'm going to need to get a tent running. I'm thinking about throwing a 630w De CMH into a 3x3 tent, and I'm not sure if I should be talked out of it... or pushed forward.

Depends on the winter temps in your basement.
It’s it just the heat so much as the sheer power. Ceiling height for me was too short. I swapped out mine for two nanolux 315’s with hortilux bulbs. If I had another foot or so they would have done better. Heat was easy to manage in my case

I'm at 7.5 ft height, trying to get about a 4 ft canopy. Temps are hitting around 50-56°f ambient for the time being and will hit about 45°f in the coldest parts of winter. So I'm trying to use more light than rely on my heater during lights on.

That’s the height of my room. The de 630’s after hung and everything at the highest point was too much.
