its diatomaceous earth, its bascily a powder that kills bugs ive been covering my soil in it to fight off fungus gnats

Diatomaceous earth is the shit. It cuts bugs open in addition to soaking up the waxy business on their bodies that keeps them moist, so if they survive a razor bath, they dry out.

Gotta be careful though, the same stuff that makes it dry them out can poison you if you have prolonged exposure and inhale it often enough.

Great grow so far man!

Hey folks, for this weeks update I thought id take some close ups of the lower plant structure to show the effect the super cropping has had in building a strong support structure. I think I may have been to gentle with it as there are only a few branches that have really become extremely thick but the colas on those branches are fantastic so I cant complain to much. There is one plant that got nutrient burned early on in the flowering procces but I hope that it has been recovering however the soil hasn't been getting any drier and im worried the plant has just stopped growing and transpiring :S its lower growth loosk very healthy and green however so im hoping for the best from it.

Thought id get some glamour shots as well XD

this one is the poor burnt girl not sure why she got so damaged when none of the other plants got that bad:

as you can see the branches on the lower parts of the plants are almost as thick as the main stem in some places, this is allowing for very good nutrient uptake and the colas on these branches are the largest and most dominate ones with tons of healthy bud growth

So do you have any idea yet of yield? Id be interested to see how 600w of LED compares to the same HPS yield wise.

With so many claims of the efficiancy of LEDs it wold be good to see the results.

well I don't like to count my chickens before they hatch but since im only 5 weeks of 12/12 into an 8-10 week flowering cycle and my buds are already looking sexy im hoping for at least 1lb total possibly more but only time will tell

Hey Adjour, just wanted to say nice looking plants you got there. If I didn't have a heat deficiency I would go LED. Unfortunately I have to go theopposite route and go HPS. (I guess that's not unfortunate, just more energy consumption). Anyhow, I really like your training techniques. Keep growin' can't wait to see the yield!

Current Setup: 4x4x8 veg room, 8 x 100W equiv. CFL, approx. 250CFM in/out. 11 ladies growing in TGA Organic Soil with 1/3 TGA Super Soil bed.

sad news in the garden today, the plant that got nute burned a few weeks ago and stopped growing started to show signs of male flowers so I had to pull it, will definatly hurt my final yield. Other 4 plants are looking great and im pretty sure I got the hermie before any pollen sacks fully developed. it was a sad scraggly looking plant and I maybe got a half oz of actual bzud off it and a whole pile of shitty looking underdeveloped buds, probably just gonna mke the whole pile into hash oil or something

I took clones before I started flowering, there in the fridge. supposedly I can keep them there for a couple months before rooting them, well see if that works in another few weeks lol

If your plant hermied through stress, all the seed will likely be females. If it's just a weak genetioc strain that likes to hermie, get rid of it. I just had one of those.

haven't had a prolem with it before, and this strain has been grown out a few times by me and my friends, I think this is just an isolated incident, I should have flushed the plant after it got burned but I didn't, I though tit would just grow past it but it didn't, hasn't grown at all since and today I noticed what appeared to be male flwoers forming at the very bottom of the plant. figured id play it safe rather then risk ruining the whole crop, not even 100% sure what I saw was what I think it was

So you might have killed a female? I've done that.
lol I might have, but im about 76% sure what I saw was the start of a male flower developing, either way the plant hadn't grown in weeks and made me sad every time I looked at it, compared to all my other plants it was very shitty looking and I don't think it was going to yield any more then it already had on it. My other ladies are nice and healthy though so they will yield enough to make up for it I hope, plus I got a little extra room in the tent now and can add some side lighting. I figure if it was going hermie on me then why risk ruining the rest of the crop for one sad looking plant, chop chop smoke

well due to some unfortunate circumstances I had to pull the crop. I had noticed a small colony of spider mites developing and in my haste to get rid of them I bought "scots eco sense bug b gone" from the hardware store, it was labelled safe for edible crops but the shit destroyed my plants basically ever leaf shrivelled and died within 48 hours. I made the decision to chop today after much research into what could happen if I let them finish the cycle and the risks seemed to high. anyways I finished with a nice pile of weed after 7 1/2 weeks of flowering. The trics were all extremely cloudy with no visible clear except on the lowest bud sites. this strain of widow has blue cheese crossed into it so it is a bit more indica dominate anyways and I think it was fairly close to being done anyways.
