More light and my temps are good.

Very nice.

edit:
Whoa. It is 71 in my furnace room and 72 in my veg room under the stairs!
It goes up to 78 when my 600 watt hps kicks on, it exhausts right through the veg room.

I am going to have to set up some CFLs that kick on when the temp get below 70. Wow. The hps will keep it warm once the veg/seed room is switched to 12/12

So I was planning on waiting until after this weekend to super crop but after inspecting the plants today I decided it was time, I really wanted to get them cropped before the stems became to woody for it to be done. I carefully pinched each main branch coming off the main stem below where all the branches created by topping connect. My goal is to create the super crop knuckles as close to the main stem as possible so all branches will receive the benefit from it. I was very careful to pinch the stems lightly breaking only enough tissue that the branches stayed bent down, a couple snapped through a little more then I would like but for the most part it was a success. It was very delicate work as the nodes are very close together and I wanted to avoid snapping the growing tops. Here are the before and after photos enjoy!

Its only been one day since the supercropping but the growing tops have already turned themselves upwards to the light, the branches are developing knuckels where the crops were made and overall the plants are looking healthy and bushy. Im thinking im on track to start flowering on oct 1st

In order to combat the fungus gnat problem I have covered my soil with a layer of diatomaesoucs earth. I also noticed my ph level was pretty high so I've top dressed with some blood and bone meal ( 7-7-0) hoping that as it composts it will help to bring down the ph level of the soil (ive read that it can help). Soil is still showing 7/10 on my moisture meter so im not watering it today, last watering was a week ago and im thinking they wont need to be watered again until late next week. I water with ph corrected tap water between 6-6.5. Im not sure why my ph has climbed up into the 7.5-8 range but im hoping I will be able to bring it down over the next few weeks (or mabe my cheapass ebay soil meter is crap). The plants seem to be doing fine, there are a few deformed leaves but for the most part they are still healthy.

Nice job on the supercrop, it's something i will try one day :)
Also thanks for the normal photos, there's something about pics of plants under led that just totally spoils it for me but they are definately the future for indoor growing :)

Looking good adjorr I keep checking your updates lol, been really leaning on getting LED's. I think over all it will be cheaper in the long run.

Its been a few days since the super crop and they are all healed up, looking very bushy im quite pleased. I pulled one out to get a good close up of the knuckling effect. as you can see its created a very thick central hub on the stem. The white powder on the leaves and soil is just diatomaseous earth. Enjoy

Damn man are you growing a cabbage? Them nodes are tight :) awesome looking.
LOL thanks, im pretty happy with them, ive been thinking of giving them a second round of super cropping, where ill crop each individual top where they all connect to the main branches that have already been cropped.

So I decided to go ahead with round 2 of super cropping, I cropped as many tops as I could find, its a jungle in there. I focused on points where multiple tops came together, then cropping just below that node. heres is the before and after shots for your enjoyment
P1110041.jpgP1110051.jpgP1110045.jpgP1110049.jpgP1110050.jpgP1110044.jpgP1110039.jpgP1110040.jpgP1110037.jpgP1110038.jpgP1110052.jpg

as well as a little explination of how I do it, first you slect your top to be cropped, then using your thumb and index finger gently pinch the top together until you feel some tissue snap, and voila your done!

Do you get decent yields with led? I use an led for budding with t12 lights to supplement. I veg with t5 ho lights though. Last harvest I got 46 grams dry, but the Reason I ask is cuz I have a400 watt hps just laying around and I have nothing to compare it to. I've been growing auto flowers as of late but when I plant these sour diesel beans I'm going to try topping because super cropping seems the way of the future kudos again.

yeah ive gotten decent yields with led before, here is a couple autos I grew when I just had the 2 180w panels and a couple 39w t5's I didn't weigh this harvest but it felt like a lot lol. I also grew a couple white widows with that setup before and they yielded about 5 oz each, unfortunately I don't have pics of them

this is the 240w panel I bought recently,http://www.ebay.ca/itm/161089283496?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Im very happy with it and would buy from this seller again. I cannot vouche for LED units from other sellers but if you know what to look for in a good unit they are out there

topping and super cropping work great together, I definatly recommend you try it. With these plants they were topped in the first couple days of being planted (their clones) and then each new shoot was topped again above the first node on the shoot which gave the really crazy lateral branching that ive gotten. Now with super cropping I am able to strengthen all these stems which will allow them to support more weigh, which of course means bigger better buds :bigjoint:

Man you are my hero I'm about to buy two but I noticed they're from Hong Kong would I need a conversion plug outlet or does it just come with a normal 2-3 prong?

One more thing and I apologize for blowing up your thread but I just want to know how big is the light and how many plants per light do you grow? Oh and is the cost 160$? Cuz there's a c in front of it lol I'm just confused but thank you for everything I really appreciate it!!!

Yeah its 160 Canadian is all that means I took the link from ebay Canada lol. They ship you a plug that matches what countries outlet type, its a 3 pronged computer power cord. That light could handle 4 plants by itself if they were short and bushy but more light is always better.

With LED you want to have enough units to provide even coverage over your whole canopy as there peak effectiveness is right under the light itself. So how many lights you need and what wattage really depends on how many plants you want, how big you want them to grow, and how much space you have to work with. A good rule of thumb is 60-100 watts per plant and a light for every 2x2 area. So for example if I had 4 plants in a 2x2 area i'd want a minimum 240w but id likely buy a 300-400w unit. Im using 120w per plant which seems like a nice powerful number to me :) and its getting great results. Im hoping for rock hard buds during flowering. I personally believe that when you go watt for watt LED will out perform HID lighting, although HID definatly has LED beat in coverage area

t5 HO side lighting also helps a lot with led grows, it can help bring light to lower canopies and taller plants where the LEDs may be blocked. I haven't decided if im going to use side lighting this time or not I think I have enough wattage in LED that I shouldn't have to, but like I say more light is better :blsmoke:

My space is a 2x3 area and I have 3 lights in there, 2 180w and 1 240w there all the same size. Id like to upgrade to all 240w panels if I get the money together.
From there ad the unit itself is 16"Lx8.5"Wx2.5"H and is recommended for a 2"x3" growing area.

edit and post in my thread all u want LOL its what I started it for:weed:
