I just picked up a 400 mh and a 600 hps.. I am 3 weeks into veg under a 400w hps.. Out of the three, what would you guys suggest.
Also i got a Sun systems hood with a slot for glass. What kind of glass should I get, plate or tempered? Thanks peace....:peace:

i'd use the 400w MH for sure, but depends on how many ladies you have growing too, if you could use some more light than a 400w MH i'd think maybe add the 400w HPS, but if you want the most bang for your buck in terms of elec just use the MH

yes personally i would use both, wider light spectrum for plant, for vegging! I've found MH light almost usless on flowering compared to HPS lights. and if you air cool them, the size of your room shoudl not cause a heat factor

use 400 for babies and as they grow bigger add the hps on a timer. then in budding just use both lights. then 3 weeks before harvest turn the mh off by the extra shade casued by the meatal haalide being off it will alow buds to ripen quicker . ive hear of people getting nice smoke from a metal halide so i dont think it hurts you just need enough lumens for the plant to gow right.

Is using both the 400w MH and the 400HPS in option?... if not i would go with the MH.. then switch it back over to the 600w HPS for flowering:weed:

It is of course an option, I have tried it myself in the past and it does of course work. But it is not needed.

If you read information from true expert growers you will not find them running both MH and HPS at the same time
