600W HPS/MH White Widow Soiless Grow

This is my second grow and so far everything has been running smoothly. Though there was a slight hiccup in germination the only set back was a slightly staggered crowd of ladies. Three are 12 days old, two are 10 days old, and one is 7 days old. But none the less they all popped and are thriving under the radiant 600w Metal Halide and C02 enrichment.
My first grow consisted of 3-4 23w CFL's, Miracle Grow soil, Computer tower fan, no nutes and no temp control. It was more of a project that was somewhat successful. I was able to smoke my own bud that i nurtured from seed. I think thats the best fulfillment a stoner can get.
This grow I invested about 800.00 because I seen the time and care these girls need and I want the best smoke for my time invested. This is what Im running:

600w HPS/MH Dimmable Cool Tube
6in 240 CFPM Inline Fan
Efficient Ducting
3 Gallon Pots
Sunshine Soiless Mix
Organic C02 Generator
Box Fan
2.3 Gallon Humidifier
PH Control Kit
Big Bloom/Grow Big/Cha Ching/Beastie Bloomz/Open Sesame/Snow Storm
Infrared Thermometer
Ambient Thermometer
24 HR Light 100%
Watering Every 2-3 Days

My average temps are 75-79 degrees(ambient) 70-74 degrees(leaf temp), 55%-60% humidity, These babies are 5 inches tall, my goal is to get them no taller than 4 feet in full flower. The grow space is adequate 5x3 and 4 feet tall, with six plants and the conditions I have including properly PH'd water and using less than instructed nutes what can be my typical harvest? And how can I maximize my bud growth with what I have to work with?

Any knowledge dropped on me is greatly appreciated, I have been reading the grow bible but peer knowledge is sometimes best. Happy Growing.

Nice first go..........invest in a small nft tank, single part nutes such as ionic by GT and you will not believe the results (seriously) You seem to be pretty switched on and prepared to make the effort so you will succeed...... expect 5-12oz dry weight if done perfectly, but just grow 3 or 4 plants max and train them down to create an even canopy. good luck oh flower them at about 8 to 10 inches or they will take over the world and keep light as close as poss to stop stretch, but not too close.

Loos great bro .I'm pretty much doen the same thang ...SOIL GRO(FOX FARMS OCEAN FRST GRO BIG FF BIG BLOOM 600 WATT CONVERT. BALAST CLOSET(4X5X8)HAVE HAD GREAT RESULTS W/THIS SUT UP IN THE PAST.gODD LUCK TO YOU and remember most of all...patience pays...luck 2 u m8

Thanks guys, I had the light 10 inches away trying to see if I can manage it but the temps were getting in excess of 87 degrees. So I raised it to 18 inches but so far this is how she looks after one feeding of Big Bloom & Grow Big. They are on day 14 from seedling now

The girls had their first feeding at 75% suggested dose two days ago. Responded well although my youngest one might have gotten burned slightly. Next watering w/o nutes and a foliar feeding of big bloom. Not sure when I am going to start snow storm ultra yet.

awesome. Ive got white widow again, with a 600w hps/mh and am using sunshine mix. I was going to do foxfarm, using the whole nute line but chose to go with advanced this time instead.

Im very interested in your outcome. My space is a 3x3x7 tent. I love white widow. Cant ever go wrong. Shes great indoors and out. Had a little bud rot issue this year,but what do you expect after a week of rain?

The girls are liking the watering/feeding schedule so far, I'm watering every 3 days only feeding every other time with less than recommended dosage with foliar feeding in between soil feedings. Humidity isn't what I want but that will increase as they get bigger and transpire more. I have 4.5 feet max height in my space... Whens a good time to flower?

Corners... I'm the most nervouse about curing, my last grows cure was an epic fail. Any techniques you use?:leaf:

Looking very nice for day 19. Sadly I got my 600w and (bent up) reflector off eBay. Wish I'd just got a cooltube now, you've got it so close to the plants it's crazy. I really think you'll get a great yield

From my experience and from what ive been told white widow loves the nutes.
*tip
One thing to be aware of is bud rot. Always make sure those leaves are flapping in the wind. Usually its too late to by the time you notice the rot inside the bud.

Im with you on the curing boat. My second time around looking better. I just hang the branches for a few days. Then i put them in tubs, like butter containers with a paper towel or 2 on the bottom, just in case i dont burp it fast enough. First day or 2 of tub i keep the lid just laying on top, so u can almost see into the tub a little. Then i close it and start burping it once or twice a day. I do the same in glass mason jars also, minus the paper towel. If its a big jar i kind of lay it on inside so its not all compressing so much, especially since its pretty sticky and wants to stick together. I kind of rotate the jars a lil to make sure they dont stick together 2 long. I'm kind of new at the curing, so it might be a little more dryer till i get used to it. But only because im staying on the safe side, dont want to lose anymore to rot. If you can, i kept it close, if its not alot, so i could burp and check on them more then i did the first time.


I wouldn't let them get too much taller then 1-2 feet for your space, you can expect them to at least double in height when ready to cut down. You could always top and train them which they dont mind at all. They can get pretty bushy if you want them to be

I just let the pots dry out and gave the girls a nice watering w/o nutes. They have been doing fine besides a few burns from a sloppy foliar mist when I had the lamp 8 inches away. I am planning to foliar feed tomorrow. They have responded well to feedings of 75% strength my littlest problem child is looking healthier strangely after I topped her yesterday. I am not complaining I figured I grow it thru its full life regardless of size.

I fed them their first dose of SnowStorm Ultra and they are already looking shiny. I am frustrated with the uneven growth as I want to flower on the 22nd. The first two pics are the room with the fan on @ 75-78 degrees and off at 82-93 degrees. Actually, the 93 was when my girlfriend turned the heater on forgetting to close the rooms vent:cuss: But they just stretched a tiny bit I will live...

Thanks for the advise, I have a box fan on 24 hours and a tiny desk fan in between the pots to push air up too, I do have the patience this time around and love spending time with the girls, this will be good I hope!

Wow man looking good! I love how green they are! When you say his/mh are you using a hybrid bulb or two different ones? Love to see the soil, I just started my first grow which is pretty similar to yours! Good luck and I hope your girls grow nice and big for you!

Using a dimmable ballast that fits HPS and MH bulbs but right now Im using Metal Halide for veg, and switching in a couple days for flowering

So the girls got a week of Open Sesame along w/ Snow Storm and Grow Big. Their heights range from 12in(the problem child) to 20(the healthiest) and with my max height of 4.5 I am flowering tomorrow. No problems so far I believe they only vegged for about 2.5 - 3 weeks.

Haha dang.. I am using a dual arc bulb and was hoping I could hear from some experience! Either way your plants look good! Keep up the good work.

I was just reading about that bulb in Jorges book, def superb to have both spectrums at the same time w/o using extra ballasts and lights. They just love tha MH, they act different to HPS I'm noticing but maybe thats just me.

Flowering now for 5 days. 12/12 under HPS, soil PH is 6.3, humidity gets out of control when the doors are closed upward of 80% one time, so I left humidifier off and still had some trouble controlling it. Flowering is def going to be challenging with these girls being very healthy and outgrowing their 3x4x4.5 YIKES I'm only using 3 gallon pots. Next pics will be some nice flowers!!!
