600w HolySmoke Strawberry Diesel & DinaFem Cheese

OK! This is the first journal im writing, but I've decided to start it a little differently. Ill start with the pics from the first (less than satisfactory) harvest. The room is about this big > (________). Plants are grown in straight ProMix & nutes were some no name brand granular ones bought at the local grow shop. The nutes have since been changed to the GHE Micro range. The first grow yielded about nothing and was more of a learning experience than an actual grow. There were originally 19 plants under the light consisting of 10 Strawberry diesel & 9 Cheese plants that were clones from seeds we grew into mothers. The SD showed two distinct variations, one being short compact with not much branching & the second being the most uncontrollable, long branchy, odourless & generally shitty plant to date( Smoked great though). The Cheese was a fem freebie along with a Road Runner #1. Cheese is a picky bitch that never seemed satisfied, during the first weeks of flowering it looked so bad i thought they were dying. Only to be blown away by the amount of size it developed later in flowering. Size which didnt turn into weight.
The SD/Tall Pheno was cut earlier & the rest chopped a few days later. The SD was the denser of the 2 & the cheese was fluffy, immature & smelt like rotten milk.
Ill follow this with the pics. Feel free to ask questions . The First crop sucked but the next crop will be chopped in 10 days or so and is looking a lot better. This time there are 25 plants under the light, with cheese being its usual pest like self & some how now looking like a fucking sativa! (From clones , same mother)

OK so that was the previous harvest. The new batch of clones has been going a few weeks now. The following pics are a basic development timeline taken a few weeks a part. Sorry about the Pic quality! Ill take some nice ones on sunday when i have my camera( Friends lending it for a architectural project) And some microscope pics. Getting a 400x usb one so that should be pretty fresh. Anyway here are the pics. The clones are vegged for about 10 days then flipped. Im trying a perpetual grow cause i cant really call it a SOG, although there are 25 plants within a sqm. When these are chopped the cheese will be culled for good as the growth is unpredictable. Spot the cheese? Fuck it..

Its a 600w Dual Spec lamp running through a nextgen 400w/600w switchable E-Ballast. The reflector is just an average bat wing thing.

Ok, checked on evrything today. Looks pretty average. Tested to 400x microscope & checked the trics & aphids(outdoors). Cheese was looking her usual worst & smelling of rotten milk. SD was looking pretty good & seems to be rippening a bit faster this time round. Last harvest was cut at 10 weeks (SHIT NUTES!) Carmera was flat so the pics were a little hurried. At the current time they are 8 weeks exactly so i think the SD could be done next week. The bitch cheese is gonna need aleast another 10 to 14 days!!!

AH!!!! Stoner memory, Should have had more updates... EISH!.... Ok, so the harvest went ok we chopped all 24 plants at 9 weeks. A new batch of clones were planted and were flipped to 12/12 after a week under the HPS. They had already been vegging for 6 weeks in drink cups in the little clone/veg closet. They are vegged under 5 fluorescent tubes. So... The changes that have happened so far are we have increased the amount of plants to 30 & reduced the plant bag size to 5l from 11l. New seeds arrived a couple of weeks ago. They will be germed this weekend. They are Dr Grinspoon (Barneys Farm) & Nevilles haze (Greenhouse) For my guerilla grow im planning for spring. The rest are for the indoor project which are GrapeGod(Next Gen) Lavender(Soma) Caramelo(Delicious) Critical Sensi Star (Delicious). A new veg area is being planned, Maybe CFL or 250w MH...Hmmmm... At the end of this next batch ill start to experiment with the other strains. Ill upload some pics on sunday of the new round plus the harvest pics & some bud shots. OH! I forgot to mention that i did try the full 48hr dark period right at the end & i can say i dont see any improvement in tric production. The potency was better but i put that down to better nutes & more stable growing environment. The cheese was a little more compact this time & the SD was slightly smaller in average yield. Yeild was improved from 150g last time, to 200g dry this time. This still seems low to me so ill continue to fine tune everything. I think the pheno of this cheese plant is naturally open budded and not as dense as other phenos. Also in the news, im also experimenting with growbox yields, specifically cfl vs HID in enclosed environments. Pics soon.
