kk, im takin off for work for a week or so, the mrs will be maintaining the girls. they are lookin strong and super compact, the middle one is starting to snap out of its rut as well... nodes are shooting off from everywhere on all the plants, its really quite amazing. they appear to have taken my addition of micro last night well to up the N level. stats for the day:

ph:5.9
ec:1.0
res temp: 66F
tent temp: 73F

this is almost getting boring with the numbers being so stable lol, but i shall not complain/

question for BB, or anyone else with input.

heres the scenario, im currently out of town til the 23rd or so, my girlfriend is maintaining the plants like a sweetheart. right now the plants are blowing up in size, and i was hoping to put off training for another ten days until i get home. i plan on gradually lowering the screen, and i have noticed that you allow your plants to get very tall in veg, but i also know you flower no more than 1-2 plants. i have about 2.5 plants cause of the runt in the middle. they are super bushy, and im really wanting to fill all of the 3'x3' section i plan on focusing my light on. knowing that i am going to gradually lower the screen, inch by inch, and the amount of space i am working with, should i have her put the screen up and begin training now, or would it be cool to wait. i would like to do what is going to be easiest, and easiest on my girlfriend. i do not want to sacrifice yield though, and im cool with vegging as long as it takes. we are about 1 month into veg from clone right now. thanks a lot in advance for all the help and advice, if you ever come to michigan youve got a friend here already.

here is the picture i feel best represents the structure, and size of the plants, the tallest is at 16" today, it went from 8" to 16" in less than a week:

they are actually bigger than that, that picture is from a couple days ago. also what is the best way to manage a plant like the one on the left, it's so super compact cause of reveg, just lay it down and spread it out?

Sativa? Indica?

Indica will be a bear to screen.

Sativa, they love it.

If the g/f is comfortable with lowering a screen by herself then by all means get em screened.

But remember this also, the Plant will let you get away with alot of bending if done slowly.
Slap it down fast and breakage will occur. It's happened to us plenty of times. We just foil tape the break
and lay a cloth on top of the screen covering the wound with shade for a couple days.

So you could wait and do it till you get back and have fun together.

No worries, no sweat.

Good to have a gal like that around, learn together and rock that grow!

Hey Defcom, so far your girls look real good. Quite healthy. But did you say your PH was 5.9? That's a little low. It should be between 6 - 7.

Also, it looks like you pumped a shit ton of money into this grow and don't get me wrong, the whole thing looks spectacular, but all the bells and whistles aren't necessarily necessary for your girls to bud beautifully. I'm trying to say that having money on a first time grow can be dangerous if you're trying to maintain on a budget. Just watch them, give them some love ("nutrients"), and they will take off. :leaf::leaf:

It looks great! :joint:

Plus, if you've never watched bud flower before under an HPS light its crazy. Like a foot a day man. :peace:

i spent what it took to do what i wanted to do. i am not one who typically half asses things, or cuts corners. i have a res that has been stable for ten days with ZERO maintenance. as for my ph, 5.8-5.9 is where i want to be. as for whats happenin now, my girl is about to throw the screen on, and i should be home in time to start flower... they are blowing up!

ray, i appreciate your advice, but why would you advise me to grow in DWC at ph of 6-7?

6 to 7 in dwc is ideal? are you out of your mind. Defcom run your ph at 5.85 or as close as possible. Any higher you will run the risk of deficiencies. Ray must have smoked his breakfast man. Keep it green!

thanks a lot man, and yea i'm all over the pics right now cause its my first grow... that and there is the possibility i may catch signs of a deficiency or something to that effect. she can take care of them with direction from me, but she is still learning how to diagnose things.
