scrog - i've never tucked it back through. i suppose this would work for some strains but, like the hindu kush ive got or even the sfv, the stems won't want to be that flexible. i'd rather have stocky fat stems anyway. be lazy.

the blue dream will stretch. i always figure 30% and it was about right every time. but that's starting at like 1 - 2' tall. no idea what will happen with that big one. let's find out!

tea shouldn't raise your ppm much if at all. remember ppm is measuring "salts". microbes wont show on this, neither should much else of what's in the tea. in my case, molasses will show, and a bit of runoff from the ewc, but it's rarely more than 10 or 20ppm. similarly, ph shouldn't be affected much either. especially if you ph the water to start the brew with, but even if not (i dont), just remember it's the same ph as whatever you'd be adding back anyway. the content of the tea isn't going to change your ph much if at all.

just remember the point of the tea is to take small bits of expensive additives and breed their contents out. i wouldn't sweat adding things like liquid karma, add that on its own. only put stuff in the tea that has got microbes in it, dont think liquid karma does. really though, it doesn't matter much. put in some of whatever, let it breed for a day or two, whalla .. tea.

on my side -

destroyed my phone when a garden hose under pressure went berserk in the grow room. full on blasting everywhere, straight up at the light in the tent mostly! phone sacrificed itself to save the day and is shot, so pics asap. wouldn't believe the mess in here, pretty damn funny. soaked me completely to the bone, water everywhere in the tent and all around. what a total mess but everything survived.

new setup is all in place. looks and works beautifully. had a few kinks to work out but overall the setup looks really nice and i have a feeling we're in for something fun.

4 plants, 85ish gallons total in the system. adding drippers now. sfv went into the tent last night and this morning the best one looked horrible. added two drippers and 30 minutes later it looks like a champ again. never leaving home without drippers now. 2 per plant, they will remain on constantly. i'll cover the pots by making plastic covers from the plastic cuttings in the reservoir tops, should eliminate problems with fungus gnats or other stuff that might like the very moist hydroton.

details as soon as i can get pics going again.

no problems drying out the harvest. the stuff on the test rack went into a jar today. lid remains off for another couple days. the rest is in the drying cabinet doing great. 85f, 45%, so it's a hell of alot hotter in there than it should be but can't sweat it. can't control it right now, so no point in fretting about it. its drying faster than id like but it smells and looks great. im keeping a close nose out for a smell of hay or similar. it will go into jars this weekend.

I'm sorry about your temps, mine are at 71-73 and I'm not happy about that, RH is 49% I believe.. But nothing I can do. Also sorry about the garden hose, but at the same time I am loling on the inside.

Drippers should help increase the amount of feeder roots you have as well as keep fresh clones damp.

I got all the tea stuff worked out a few days ago, I'm brewing a new batch tomorrow, my tea turned out to be dynamite! Everything it touches explodes into new foliage and flowers! But thank you very much for the advise on it. And thank you very much for the insight on the blue dreams. I wanted to just flower one, but I already prepared and paid for 14 gallons of amended soiless mix, so I'm going to thin the hell out of them and scrog them out TONIGHT.

I wish it was September, so I could throw one of these BD's outside and flower just one under the screen!
Time may change me, but I can't change time

The 2 BD have now officially been drenched in Azamax, transplanted, drenched in Azamax again, and put under a screen and put into flower. This also required tearing down the tent and moving it into another room. I'm sick of this thing blowing on me when I'm trying to sleep. Even if it means falling asleep at 5:30am it is better than sleeping with that loud ass fan blowing hot HPS air on my face, and having ear plugs jammed in my ears.

I hope this is going to pay off, they look silly. These giant monster plants under my 600w with a 3x3 screen over them.

I swear by the end of this I am going to have to cut a giant square in the top of my tent just so I can get my HPS high enough.

So I've decided to take picture of the whole Blue Dream Monster SCROG with only 600w project thing I got going on.
That title sounded so attractive I may actually start that thread. But anyways, I wanted you to see how the ladies were doing and that you may witness the ridiculousness of this.

So here they are:
Bluedream2.jpgIf you're wondering about the extra bit of flex duct, it is so the HPS bulb doesn't blind me everytime I open the tent. But it does suck my hair up my hair like a vacuum cleaner.Bluedream6.jpgSome promising undergrowth, today is the second day of 12/12 and second day since transplant. But the 5 gallon buckets I was using were larger than your typical 5 gal buckets, so they should just barely be able to root in here comfortably without circling or getting root bound. Those are 7 gallon buckets right there with 8 gallons of soil in each. You can see my excessive trimming already, but that is how I keep these monster happy under a 600. Anything that isn't within a half inch of that screen is getting chopped by week 3.Bluedream5.jpgGetting my SCROG on.
Bluedream3.jpgBluedream4.jpgCan you recognize which one's they are still by the stalk?

And that's about it. I had a few others, but they were repetitive and ridiculous. But I'll leave some love in you other thread too :leaf:

shit just saw these pics. you officially have the world's tallest scrog.

deserves a new name. like Tower of SCROG.

how are these looking now .. what like 3 weeks later?

the cabinet is now in flower week three with the hindu skunk but nothing really interesting to post. especially still with no camera.
hinkdu skunk is kicking ass through 90f+ temps. no real bud formation yet but we should see that in the next few days. i wouldn't mind putting it off. not looking forward to 90f+ on big juicy buds but still, i rise.

is that the same 1" plastic mesh from home depot that i used? so many people critisized the 1" scrog but it's been great. i look at these scrog screens with like 3" x 4" holes that some people use. what's the point? Q: are we not men?

I think it's 2x2 actually. The 1x1 looked intimidating but I can see the advantages of both a 1x1 screen or a 3x4 screen. It all depends on how much veg you are doing under the screen and how you are going to prune your plants. With a little bit of pruning up top, you could only have few tops, but they could all be mega massive and perfectly uniform. Not only did the screen fill out better than I had expected since I posted those pictures, but I got the height I was looking for, at least in the center. lol, I'm just glad it wont be a failure. I think the only thing that could justify the veg time and money I spent just procrastinating with these plants is pulling a pound at least. I am about to cut the screen out actually now that the training is done (VERY FUCKING CAREFULLY!!) and see if I can let light to the lower growth and let the branches spread out a little. because if I can get light to that lower growth that would be great, it's a little late to be pruning and I left too much down below, I didn't want to murder my plant with all the pruning that I had to do.

If the long stems can't support the buds (likely) I will put a 5x5 garden screen back down made out of twine that I found laying around, I will probably just end up doing that as soon as I cut the screen out that is in there currently.

LOL tower of scrog, I like that a lot. I will take pictures as soon as I'm done feeding this flowering outside. I don't want to seed up my Blue Dreams. I've been working on a breeding project, and it's about time to collect, but right now the blue dream is not part of that project. I think one more feeding with some goodies and I will take pollen in the next 2-3 days. I found out you can start flowering a male indoors and put him outside after about a week or less, and he will keep on flowering with NO FUCKING PROBLEMS AT ALL. He stretches a little more out here because he has more light, but he is fucking happy as fuck with 0 stress showing in the leaves.

Blue dream is already starting to frost up though, I think this shit is gonna be good!

i've always had a much better time supporting weighty, bowing stalks with a stick rather than a net. the net helps, but a stick gets you done with it right away, just how you want it.
i use the plastic green ones from home freakin depot. they tend to come in handy for all sort of random tasks.

when i get the kinks worked out of the tent, considering placing a cage over each reservoir (2 pots per res). that way can scrog in 3D, keep things exactly where i want them with a minimum of micro managing. Would be kinda funny, but a cage about the size of an animal trap would be the perfect size.
