FIRST GROW!!!
7/10/08 I ordered 5 Feminized Greenhouse Cheese from the DOC which i received in Chicago 7/17/08. Germinated 5/5. Planted each in their own cupfull of Fox Farms Ocean Forest. Water. Over Watered. Punched holes in bottom. Placed in grow room under 600w HPS which was at the top of the ceiling, about 5' away. Went to sleep, and 8 hrs later i decided it was a little warm/hot. I'm afraid my 80CFM ghetto rigged fan may not be enough to clear the room of the warm air? Have not received thermometer/hygrometer in the mail so to play it on the safe side I opened the grow room door and positioned a fan blowing in basement air. 48hrs into grow I turned off light for 6hrs and lower lamp to about 2-3ft from plants. Light has been on ever since. Unsure what results of using 600HPS for 24hr Veg. 10 Nirvana White Widow will join the Greenhouse Cheese in about 24hrs after germination. I ordered them 7/9/08 and barely received them today.
Not to mentioned I could have got them from the DOC cheaper and faster. Also not to mention i squeezed 1 today to test quality and it cracked.
I plan on to start keeping track of the veg cycle when i put the WW in there tomorrow.
As far as watering goes i have been dividing a full plastic cup of water between the 5 of them. Twice a day. Not sure if that's good or not. Let me know..
As far as nutes go I purchased Fox Farm Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom. I was planning on starting grow big 1 week into veg at 1/2 strength, probably boosting it up to full strength the following week. Good idea?
Thermometer/hygrometer, 3gallon grow bags, plastic for floors are all on the way...
I want to start my own vegetation area once this batch goes into flower and just use the current grow room as a flowering room. Unsure how big it should be. How many watts of what time of lamp I should use. I was thinking about using CFL? Or maybe a 400w MH? Or what i should make it out of. If you have any suggestions, seen a nice 1 somewhere, or have made your own let me know and if you could provide links and pics that would be cool.
Also if anyone has any suggestions to help out my ventilation system.. I was thinking about making a homemade humidifier/temp control and/or purchasing a new squirrel cage blower fan (265CFM or 465CFM??) My room is about 6'w, 4'l, 6't... I'm afraid the 465 may be overkill.
As far as intake i was planning on running 20' of ducting from a far window to the room, also using an 80CFM fan to help flow the air? Sound good?
