600w and 400w MH question

Hey i was wondering how much cooler a 400w MH bulb would run than a 600w or do they emit about the same amount of heat?

600 will be hotter bro, forsure. How many square feet are you working with?

600 runs hotter. Hard to say if it will make much of a difference in YOUR grow area. I'd like to say around 5 degrees hotter, but there are many variables. I run a 400 because I can keep the temp in check without ducting or direct a/c. If I were to get a 600, I would need to redesign my room. Note the keyword, "I." It's very hard to know for sure about YOU and your setup. There's also the distance to plants to think about. A 600 at 18 inches is about the same as a 400 at 13, lumens wise.

umm a veg area of 50 inch long 24 inch deep and 4 ft tall

....go with the 400 watt in a area that small....you might even want to look into CFL's if heat raises above 85F.
