600w 4x4 grow tent

I'm growing 9 plants under a 600w hps in a 4x4 grow tent. I also have a 150w hps, is it worth throwing that in the tent as well. I'm questioning is because I will have to have it closer to the plants than the 600 and the hood may block light. If I could get another oz or two out of it, I would do it, thoughts.

Hey im going to put a 1000w in a 4x4 tent and im also considering using 9 3gallon pots .......what size pots are yours?? and what kinda yield do you usually get from 9 plants in a 4x4? I was also thinking about cramming 16 3gallon pots in the 4x4 tent and see if that would give me more yeild with more plants.........
About your question im not sure what would be the best i would think extra light would help but i see your point about the hood getting in way....try setting it up and see if it blocks any light or maybe take the hood off the 150w or keep the 150 watt higher up then you would noramlly put it so not to block light from 600w but still get some extra lumens ....i dont know just some ideas........

if it was mine and there was no heat issues i would try and put the 150W at the bottom, for the undergrowth, i think it would make a better difference at the bottom that anywhere else... lol....u could also maybe...just maybe remove 1 plant and make it 8 and have the 150w in the direct center taking the middle plants place...that would get the light flowin...

Yes. I really like that idea. Thanks alot How close is too close for a 150watt. 12-14 inches???

I'm going to start them out in 1 gallon pots and transfer to 3 gallon after flowering. This is my first grow with the tent and 600watt. I've grown in a closet before under a 400 in 2 gallon pots and and was always around 30 grams a plant with 6 or 7 plants. I'm growing this time with big bud so hopefully I get to see some of those epic giant buds.

I don't know I've never used a 150w.

6 or 7 plants is too many for a 400w. I'd just stick to 4 and get an ounce minimum per plant. With the 150w too you might be able to do 5 or 6.

well um my opinion because i have a tent as well and happens to be a 4.9x4.9 and i have a 1000whps and its all ducted and fan cooled for the light and im still dealing with heat problems....so idk about two lights, your best bet would be just upgrading to one big light. personally i think thats going to kill you on heat. you can check my grow journal out ElxGangaxman 1000w tent grow, i got some pictures up now and will be updating today but its my b-day as well so when the lights kick on ill snap a few new shots, im a week into flowering. but also are both those lights have hoods with venting?
