This is my first everything. I am pretty good at making things and built this grow tent out of 2x3's and panda film. If I had to do it again, I would buy a grow tent because the whole door thing is a pain in the ass. I have a stick on zipper and light shines right through it so I cut a strip of panda film and tapped it on the right side of the zipper so I can still open it. Also I have seen some grow rooms for under 200 dollars and with the panda film, wood, tape and screws this room was about 120 dollars. I have people coming over after christmas so, I will need to take this down. Im not sure how well it will go back up so I am going to think about getting a real grow tent.

Ok for the goods. I have an 8" raptor hood with a 600wt hortilux eye bulb. The size of the hood is HUGE and with the 8" fitting it makes it hard to turn the insulated hose up to the fan and filter. I might think about getting a 90 deg elbow to save some space when I get a grow tent that is 4x4. After that I have a 8" sunleaves windtunnel fan that I made a mdf box for it and put in soundboard foam on the inside walls. This fan is great. It takes 142 watts and is pretty quiet. I noticed other fans use double the watts. I then have a phresh filter that is 8x39. So far no smell at all from the one auto syrup plant in flower. This filter is huge and heavy but totally worth it. I have a lumatek lk600 wt ballast outside of the tent. Inside the tent I have a small ocilating fan on 24 hours a day along with the windtunnel fan. The small fan uses 22 watts. So for my total set up I use 804 watts when everything is on. I started from seed from an attitude purchase I got 10 months ago. I have 5 SLH, jack herrer, syrup, grapefruit krush and the super sour seed did not germ and some other seed came crushed flat! Sounded good too. I started this grow on sept 6th and they have been into flower for 4 days now. Im looking to get this all done before christmas and dried into jars and tent down, everything. Wish me luck. I over nueted them 2 weeks ago but they seem like they are fine now and growing everyday. They are in 5 gallon pots and I last week I watered them 3 red cups of water and that lasted for 6 days. Should I use less water and water more often? They are in ffof with perlight and peet moss and I feed them the fox farm 3 pack of luquid nuets. I need to get the solubles or whatever they are called soon. I just wanted to share how happy I am with my set up(aside from the tent) and how many watts everything is using. My tent is 5.5x4 and 8ft in height. I reduce the 8" insulated hose to 4" and vent it out the gas only fireplace. With the 600 watt bulb and my house temps are around 73 deg my room gets up to 76. 79 is the highest I saw when the house was 76 deg. I was affraid of the 600's heat but it is easily managed by my set up. Hope this helps someone out with what equipment to purchase. Happy growing.

ya about 2 or 3 weeks ago I fed them table spoons instead of teaspoons of the nuets! I fried a lot of leaves. They got krispy. They now look much better. What does the leave tips curling down mean?

the plant on the very left looks like the fan is blowing the leaves. The middle one is probably not blown by the fan cuz its not that strong. Anyways im just bumping this pretty much in a cheap way. Looking for help on healthy plants.

this plant is the syrup auto from buhda. The buds look good but just below the buds are these sacks with two white strings coming out. Im not sure what they are. I dont think they are pollen sacks but I really have not idea. Can anyone help.

I pinched off one of those things and on the inside looks like a seed. There is also the two white pistiles also coming out of the same sack. Since this is an auto flower it is almost done and none of my other plants have started to bud yet. This plant will be done in two weeks. Should I just leave it in there? I dont see any pollen and I gave it a good shake and nothing came out. Im not sure. I really would like someone to respond to any one of my questions. THank you.

I see a sticky thread about people not being allowed to post in other people grow jounals unless asked to. I am asking everyone and their mom to post in my jounal. Maybe that will help my questions get answered. WTF

can you tell me why my leaves are turning down?
You already answered your own question. They were probably over fertilized. Its a little hard to tell from the pic. Try taking pics with your light off, use a flash or better yet regular light or sunlight.

could this be hermie?
Probably not those sacs u mentioned are actually female flowers. Male flowers look like small bunches of bananas.

What kind of soil are you growing in? When I grow soil, I usually water more thoroughly less often. I will wait till its almost at wilt before I water. U can tell by the weight of the pot. Monitor your ph if u can.

Yes!!!!!!!!!! someone replied!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started them in light warrior from fox farm and then transplanted them into 5 gallon pots with ocean forest and one small bag of perlight and one small bag of peet moss mixed in real well. I am going to get a ph meter because im tired of guesing what 3 day old tap water is putting out. One of my plants has not moved in 3 weeks. She is pretty much nuet locked to death. Oh well, I have 7 others to enjoy. Should I remove the female flower balls? There is tricombs on them but they are below the buds. Im thinking that if I remove them that the plant will stop putting energy into those and use the energy for the buds.

Dont worry about moving them it's a part of the plant just leave them til she is done. If the plant didn't want them there they wouldn't be there. I don't see the harm in removing them, but I dont see any benefit from it either.

from your pics, doesn't look like hermie blooms, but they can be sneaky
hps lighting makes it tough, the contrast is different, but i think you're good
if in doubt, tug it off if it doesn't cause too much damage

I think it is a female, my plants are 4 1/2 weeks old and look similar but more yellow. I over ferted twice and they are my mothers that I chopped up pretty bad.
