Ahhh SHIT. 6 days old. I thought I’d have at least 3 to 4 weeks b4 this shit. Spider mites. I found it on my BEST plant. There was a single mite spotted, and that’s it. It put at least 6 white spots on a single leaf, other leaf was fine. I immediately took the infected plant outside and quickly inspected other plants for signs of infection. None have it…yet. I will buy some neem oil, and take it from there. I will also buy rubbing alcohol incase neem oil is useless[I know, unlikely but I’m taking all precautions.] I will inspect unaffected plants VERY frequently for signs of the shitter-mite. I see no eggs but have no clue what they might look like…maybe they myte look like an egg idk..

Am I Taking the right steps? Does anyone recommend anything? or am I doing all there is to be done?

Also add 2 drops of dawn dish soap to the neem. Spray with neem two days in a row. Third day spray with just water. Fourth day don't spray at all. Keep this up for a couple weeks to make sure you get any hatching eggs. Spidermites are pretty easy to keep under control so long as you stay on top of it.

Great tips. thanks so much! +rep Well im on this like flys on shit. I'm also cleaning my grow box tonight, when they sleep, and re potting all five uninfected into some organic QUALITY soil. And I will be using the neem oil on the uninfected plants as well.

Is this taking a step to far?{last question i promise =]}

Hey Box, & welcome to a growers worst nightmare! I started a thread a while back: "White fly, Spider Mites & Alcohol". The alcohol seems to slow them down a little, but is NOT the fix. The mite eggs,(as seen under a pocket microscope), look like tiny ping pong balls.
Good luck & good grow.........BBbongsmilie

Lol. That "growers worst nightmare" made me laugh, because that's what this is going to turn into with my luck and because I almost always have no cash, wonderful availability of jobs here in the valley =_=

I'm also buying Spinosad Pesticides. And still studying on what else I can buy/steal >_> lol jk

How do spider mites travel? How do they get from plant to plant? How can I prevent transferring my infected outdoor plants to my indoor health plants?

You'll be ok just stay on top of the problem because believe me if you don't they can take over in a matter of a couple days. Also you might want to purchase a hot shot pest strip and put in your room.

I was just doing the research on the Neem oil and its definitely the way to go!! Heres a link to make your own but keep in mind that its an essential oil so you have to purchase a small amount of oil and then use water and insect soap to bind them together and you have a large supply of oil to use!!!

Hope this helps!!
