you should really read through all the information in the grow faq, it will answer questions you dont even have yet. do u have a pH meter? you can get one from a store that sells gardening supplies, just about any of them. if your soil is under 6.5 on the meter, you should mix a handful of wood ashes from a fireplace into some dirt, then lay that dirt on top.. then water and let it leak through. the miracle grow will make your pH too low for plants i believe...all chemical fertilizers can do this. you can also add lime, its a lot more powerful than wood ash and more dangerous, so only use a little--try not to breath any of it in. if the lime is on your hands, water will burn you so its best to use wood ash if you've never done this before--it works great.

pH meter costs like $12. if you can find Peters Professional, they make a veg and bloom formula, with all the micronutrients but it is powerful stuff. always start off with 1/4 of the recommended dose. its cheaper and better than miracle grow. its like $3 for a LOT.
