500w maxibright CFL dual spec grow

Hi all

I am a newbie and basically in a tent the 0.76mx0.76mx1.2m tent and I have 2 x 250w dual spectrum Maxibright lamps.

Does anyone have any experience of using these and the type of results you have got using such CFL wattage in such dimensions?

My current set up is this: 2 x Autopot containing: 2 x Lowryder #2 in Coco with Canna Coco nutes.

I'm on week 2 of flowering and the hairs are really coming up now! Any idea on whether I would be better off with adding a 150w HPS?

Thanks all!:joint::peace:

I think you'll be fine with the CFLs, I would however, add some more bulbs. I assume the 2 x 250's are at the top. But with CFL's side lighting is important, you'll want to surround your plant with as much light as you can without having heat problems.

that being said, a 150w HPS can only help things as long as you can compensate for the heat.

Thanks for that. Actually I do have 4 x 20w cfl's around the sides of the plants but since they are Lowryder #2s they are wider than tall! I am a bit concerned that the side stems are outperforming the main cola! I'll post some pics later but right now its looking like its getting hairy and the odour is developing every day.

The thing is the buds - what can I expect in respect of tightness and density from such wattage/lux and secondly, the THC and CBD content will be much different using CFLs?

Thanks brethrens

I have no Idea about THC or CBD content. but my first grow was all CFL and my buds were pretty dense actually. I think it's all about the light placement like I said. closer the better.

Aren't those CFLs a little pricey? I would look into adding some HID in there with the CFLs as an addition. But that's just me.

Everyone loves pics. Lets see the babies :D
