$5000 + grow room and my buds suck

I doubt if it was the bag seed, You should be happy you didn't fuck up some paid for seeds. I think it's your technique, u should use soil and organic first, it's easier. but you could have one hydro going, until you master it completely. I have a mixed 1000 watt mixed light set up going HPS,MH,CFL, and bag seed going. I use propane for C02- Pilot light running for a 8x5 grow room. Everything is organic and it's three weeks today. Running like a champ. 10 to 16 ounces are coming easy. Use bag seed again, but buy some nice northern lights or some big bud, but don't use them until master bag seed. AND watch your chem feed that shit is dangerous if over applied.

they were exceptionally large buds with very few seeds. sticky bud that i could smell from the bag 3 feet away. had a really sweet flavor with a nice lingering aftertaste. plus i got stoned as hell

wow you got some cash to throw at the grow room. I wish i could give you some seeds because i just cross strained some jack herer with Blue berry I would be happy to push some throug this thread to ya but i don't think i would get far.

i am just like you. been smokin for a long time and realized ig i want the best i better grow the best. that i can at the time. and by the way if you serious about giving some seeds i'll go get them!!!!! florida is a mother f to get started. saint petersburg florida, just acroos the bridge from tampa, florida. you are ever in the area i show you and friends and family the town n beaches.. been here my hole life. do not know anywhere else.

Its kinda funny, I guess if you live long enough, you get to see everything come full circle.. Case in point: I've seen so many posts that make the suggestion to start your first grow with bag seed with the simple premise to master your domain or growing area from all aspects first, this way, should you botch it, your losses are less or minimal… Yet, people still criticize a $5000 grow room that starts with bag seeds… It just makes me shake my head…I’m just sayin…

Anyway, what type of source water did you use?

Is there anything out of the ordinary that occurred during that first grow?


If not, I think it would be reasonable to assume the genetics or seeds probably had a lot to do with your quality and production. You know, some peoples first grow yields nothing but knowledge and experience, not that it’s a bad thing, just not burnable. L

forget the CO2 and mixed spectrum stuff for now. it's like putting a supercharger and nitrous on a car that's missing spark plug wires and a clutch. strip everything down to the basics, get that dialed in, then go from there. walk before you run. patience was probably the hardest thing for me to learn.

previous posters are right, you need more intense lights that are closer to the plants. i went from 1x600w HPS for a 4x4' area to 2x600 and the difference is huge. just get a successful grow under your belt with HPS, then get all fancy if you want later. as far as mixing spectrums, i thought 10k was what you needed for dual spectrum?

be careful with the UVB. i had UVB CFLs all over my flowering room to start. yes, they cause the plant to produce more THC as sunscreen, but grey mold requires UVB to germinate. no more UVB in my grow room and i have not seen grey mold since. there are other UV spectrums (UVC, UVD, i think) that occur in natural sunlight. these UV wavelengths nuke mold spores and other pathogens. so providing only UVB without the full UV spectrum may have it's drawbacks (like giving grey mold a chance). operating rooms use UVC as part of their sterilization process.

also consider getting rooted clones if you can find a source. anybody selling is going to know people who grow. other growers can get or make clones. while your dealer might not introduce you to these people, surely he/she can get you a handful of clones. it takes the guesswork out of the genetics and sexing. it also cuts out the germination/seedling stage. if you can get the same strain each time, that'll help with getting your setup dialed in since you know the genetics haven't changed. it also makes it easier to compare your harvest with others growing the exact same strain.

IMO you really should have started off simple, with soil, a 400w HPS, 2 Circulation fans and an extractor in a small grow tent ( 1m x 1m ).... 2.8 Oz from one single bagseed using the s.c.r.o.g method. And the smoke was Primo, pleased for a first timer.

I guess the moral here is bigger isnt always better.

Just because it is "bagseed" doesn't mean you didn't get some FIRE seeds as bagseed. It happens, it's just not common. Don't give up, try other strains and you will find the one. Good luck and keep it green.
