500 watts of CFL, 4x8 closet....10 plants...1 scrog

Hello everyone. First off I haven't been posting much because frankly your site has SO much information! I can't stop reading haha!

Anyway...title pretty much says it all. It is in germination at the moment the seeds and I will post a picture diary every week. I am going to do 7 weeks veg (each). These seeds aren't sexed so it's a gamble which will be which. I am hoping to get atleast 6 females. i may use one female as a breeder plant.

I need some help with this scrog...never done it before...what are the dimensions of the wire? And should I use wire?

Post some pics of your grow set up i'd like to see it. And as for the wire i've seen so many different kinds on here i think it's really all personal preference. Look at some of the pics from other scrog grows and you can see basically any type of screen works well.

I would suggest something with at least 2 inch spaces and preferably some kind of bar mat. like a chain link fence section would be absolutely perfect....Enough room to bend the branches through and back and forth. Perhaps a litle smaller. Just don't use anything with sharp edges either, you don't want to cut your stalk close to the plant and have a whole 3 foot long branch die or something...that would suck..

And I am using 450 watts of 55 watt cfls, I'm almost done flowering, the results are looking great man. Don't let anyone give you shit about growing with CFLS. they keep the heat down, they get close to the plants, and they don't make a big ass bright red dot when a helicopter flies over haha

So your giving 1 55 watt cfl per plant? A 7 week vegged plant is goin to want a lot more light. Think 2 per plant at leas with 10 inch round reflectors.

I'll take a picture tonight I got the closet lined with mylar and all the lights on top with 2 tv trays to sit the plants on

So when they grow thorugh, press back down? How many times do I do this?

I'm guessing somewhere around an ounce per plant, maybe more. this is only my 3rd REAL indoor grow, so I'm not too good at guessing the weight yet. but all those colas will be either just shy or just over a quad respectively....Hopefully a little more now since I'm going to wait till the first to chop her. The sativa plant I have next to it only has like a half ounce, but the buds stink SO much... Don't let anyone tell you CFLS can't work it right, you just gotta make sure you got the good white reflective paint or the mylar and keep em close. I made the light bar and reflector out of cardboard, an old flourascent lamp housing, and some chrome duct tape from walmart. it works like a charm. Let me know and I'll get some pics of it. I think it cost me 7 bucks to make and it saved me a lot in wasted light, which is a big deal with the CFL's as you probably already know.

Oh, and for the SOG stuff...you want to veg till your baby is about 6 or 7 inches tall, and then get it under the screen. Hopefully you will have topped it and it will have two branches to spread each way. Then as they grow, just keep pulling the branch through the screen and back under, eventually, it with braid itself into a layer of plant where all the fan leaves are resting on top of the screen. I would suggest doing a U-Sog instead of a flat screen, but to each his own. I just feel like the U sog utilizes the absolute most good light, especially with CFLS, and all the buds will grow up towards the light. it's truly amazing to see how much you can yield off so few plants.

Word I'm inbetween a scrog and sog with lst. Essentially it's almost the same...Idk I just planted two of the germinated seeds so I still got time before the other 8 germ and get planted.

The babies. Slight stretching and a tad bit of heat stress caught early. I got these HUGE CFL bulbs so I cant place too clsoe itll burn or too far itll stretch lol. Got a right distance. 2 very healthy. One with a lil heat stress and 2 more sprouting

UPDATE: Here are the two best so far at just about 3 weeks of veg!



One sativa one indica. There is one more who I guess is not genetically very good...anyway going to clone pretty soon the indica is a confirmed female thus far. Obviously jsut started LST.
