Thanks Lordjin! I got a question for you. When you harvest and dry, you get that wet grass smell during that period too right? My danky, sticky buds always turns grassy smell, then after a month cure it goes away. Guess its that chlorophyll evaporating? What is your technique to get the best smell from your buds? It is smooth as fuck, ash is white, and gets me high as fuck....but I want that original pre harvest smell again!

There are differing opinions on this topic as there are with every other aspect of growing.
It's my theory that the grassiness leaves the bud in the initial dry phase. I let my branches hang in the dark with just a passive air flow for a period of a week. During this period, if one sniffed the cab with my colas drying, grassiness would be detected. That's simply the plant releasing the odor caused by the evoporating chorophyll. Completely normal.
I think the mistake a lot of people make is jarring them too early, afraid that they're gonna dry out too much. A slow (slow is key) thorough dry is required before enclosing in an airtight jar for any length of time. I let mine dry out good until they feel nice and crispy on the outside. It may feel crispy outside, but the dense bud is keeping just a tiny core of moisture that it will hold for a very long time as it is slowly relaesed in jars that are regularly burped. You shouldn't have grassiness lingering a month or even a day. The grassiness should be gone by the time they're jarred, the curing making them smell more and more dank.

So you think small fan to help move air is to much? Usually leave overhead fan on low.

No, that should be fine... as long as you're not blowing an air current directly on them. Say the fan is just creating a flow of air gently around them, that's better imo because it allows the buds to dry slower.

Ok i took all my mason jars and dumped them back out onto my grow tent floor with my fan blowing not on the buds. I found a bud that I forgot to jar and it was totally crispy and smelled just like my preharvested buds! So I think I will let the nugs sit out a while longer till they are pretty crispy before jarring again. I think when I was curing it brought out more moisture from within and made it smell a little weird. Now that I found that one nug, I know what I have to do to get it smelling right again!

exactly. Same thing happened to me when I harvested my Platinum OG. Smelled amazing when I jarred. Next morning, grassy. Dumped out and after another day of air dry, nothing but dank smell.
im sure he takes care of you for your favorable talk on here and elsewhere ... drummimg up buisness is why you got your discount isnt it ... sounds a bit like selling out to me or you work for them either way i dont trust you
i found victor to be great pre sale talked my ears off then when i had to claim warranty his attitude shifted he became rude and abusive blocked my email and hung up when he knew it was me on the phone sean wasnt much better
was quite happy with the leds till the 500 broke still have the 240 that i veg with though i lent it out to a bud who's growing 4 auto's with it in a bubbleponic system atm an is doing good and will prob sell it to him

Before my "favorable" talk on here, I was a regular consumer too. I was just nice about things and I got hooked up. Sell out eh? I had a successful grow with their 300w light and wanted to expand. I called up victor asking him to hook me up with a light and in return I would document everything. I thought that was being a smart businessman, I get hooked up a light, they get free advertising on their products so haters like you can do what they do best....TALK. While I am smoking up a storm here. I think it was a smart business decision asking for help and getting hooked up. Im a no bullshit kinda guy and I say how it is. Im just growing with these lights and putting all the bs to rest on LEDs. Actions are louder than words and it is what it is. I am not making anything up, everything is as transparent as can be. I dont understand why you came onto my thread to talk about your bad experience with this company. Im just trying to grow and show everyone what these lights can do. I never bashed anyone on other LED companies, HID etc. I just do my thang and smoke it up. If you did have a bad experience with them, im sorry you could not resolve your situation with them. I am just telling you my experience, so if you don't like it or agree then kick rocks bro.

I get the grassy smell for a bit also when curing in glass, I was told that if the smell is strong (as in grassy) that means I should burp more or leave the tops off longer. I will experiment when it's harvest time but plan to do most of my curing in brown paper bags because it seems to work quicker for me. I guess I never did both at the same time to see if there is more then just the time it takes to get a cured smell and taste.

Not having as much experience as some but more than others ( mostly dead and the dying), I would think curing in paper bag good for short term but not 1-3 months, but what do I know?

I totally agree, It works wonders in 2 weeks but you can't max out the cure like in glass for any amount of time longer unless you have complete control of humidity and temp. I was just basicly saying for a quick solution to get past the grassy smell. A friend of mine swears by slow drying over the course of 10 days but you have to be right on point with humidity and temp because one slip and you get mold or mildew. His pay off though are buds you would think were cured for a few months but in just 10 days.

They lil rocks on this bitch it won't lose much weight. 2-3 probably when alls said and done and it finishes swellin and maturing up. Not bad for a plant in a 3 gal pot. A zip a gallon of medium is a good pull by any means. I'll get some pics up tomorrow

Total 352.7 left over. I also sold 28 grams to my friend, smoked about 14 grams. So that puts me around 400 grams totally bone dry. Thats around 14.50 ounces. So I lost about 4 oz is water weight during the cure. The buds are rock solid now and the smell no longer smells grassy. The OG Herojuana smells the best, smells exactly how it is supposed to smell. The LA Confidential smells very woody and hashy smelling now. When I exhale the smoke it is smooth, but taste like im smoking hash, with a woody pine aftertaste.

Thanks Kron! Im just a lazy grower and I do the bare minimum. lol. I have so much weed on deck that I don't really care much for yield. So I just throw them in there and let them do their thang. Im sure if I did a SCROG on my plants I would pull 4-6 ounces per plant and definitely break closer to 2 pounds off of 6 plants. But I already have 1 oz Fire OG, 3 oz $100 OG, 1.5 oz of OG Herojuana, and 14.50 ounces of La Confidential. Now I have these 6 Pre 98 Bubba Kush going on. Instead of the song Racks on Racks on Racks, it should be Buds on Buds on Buds over here! aaah the luxury of being a medically licensed grower! And now that my lights have made me back my investment and them some, everything else is cherries on top!
