I'd like to know about fans in the grow tent - not exhaust vs temp vs humidity.
Beneficial Y/N? any difference if so when a fan should be on, lights on v off ?
Remember Its high temp lowish humidity here summer and mild winters / medium humidity winter.

@Randomblame - you do realise Australia was colonised by convicts from England? I'm sure you would fit in nicely in New Zealand if Aust ain't your style!

I have 3 floor fans and a 6” exhaust fan in my 4x4s. I find them absolutely necessary for my temp/humidity conditions, else i get powdery mildew. I run them 7x24 during flowering. They break the heat and humifity stratification that occurs with big canopy.

Here is what i use:
2 of these - oscillate up/down & right/left

Others use stationary and/or oscillating fans hung at various levels in/above canopy.

Whatever works for moving air, so there are no deadspots where heat/humidity build up.

Yep, run fans 24/7. In nature, wind blows round the clock. Fans prevent mold, strengthen stems and aid in transpiration (evaporation through leaves that pulls/transports nutrient through the plant).

Holy tornado as Clinger would say, man I've been an amateur, just started using a fan for this grow for first time. Never had issues with mold touch wood so I've been lucky I guess. Picked up a nice lille 15inch oscillating unit this arvo. I'm getting better at this.....

I would like to... but I doubt that they give me a visa! My shitty criminal record, bro! Drug dealers are not welcome! Last sentence is 20 years old or so but that does not matter!
Canada and USA have already said "no-no" and I don't think I have more luck on the other side of the world.
Laws have changed a lot since the f.....' terrorists crashed in the twin towers. Without paying lots of guarantee its impossible to travel the world for person like me. Damned, it's already deleted in my home country but other countries can still see it because of international laws.
So if you not plan to marry me I see no future for us, lol!

Well I am not ready to come out of the closet yet, so how about you marry my wife instead? Thats a fucker, 20 years and still tarnished....

So I spoke too soon - again, got a bit of mold on a couple of buds on closer inspection, not where I would have picked either, I thought it would have been lower in the canopy but nope right on top of a couple of prime buds. So air movement is the key, does anyone use a preventative of any type. Is spore an issue for next time, I do like to clean with bleach after a grow.

Did I mention how dense these colas are? bloody hell! I'm gonna eat a moldy Prawn if this doesn't beat my 600HPS!

Yupp, bud rot is caused by botrytis spores. UV light helps a lot or some kind of hepa filter. When there is moisture inside the tops which can not evaporate over the day because of no airflow the cellwalls get weakened and that opens the door for fungual infects.
But I can tell you my special trick. I've used small 2" long pieces of the thick McDonalds drinking straws and have put them directly in the headbuds to open them up a little and allow the water inside to evaporate. Looks crazy (like coming from the hairdresser and forget to take out the curlers) but it works for me.
I've done it especially on my outdoor plants because of the wet weather here. Most outdoor strains finish around september/october here and automatics were not available back then.

Well I am, I mean she, is quite partial to a 63 split window or 69 tripower.....

On to more pressing issues, whats wrong with this girl. Purple stems, light coloured leaves. I transplanted up and this one struggled. Thought I may have overwatered so I let her dry out for 3 days, no joy so then I mixed up a mild nut solution and gave them a good drink till plenty of run off. It has perked up a bit.
pH is 6, they did go under my new strips but others are fine. Is it Nitrogen deficient, transplant shock or what?
Lower leaves are droopy also.

That looks like Mag def to me but im no expert. What temp/RH did you have it at? They dont seem to uptake well in low temps.
Maybe some epson salt foliar?

Dont go by my word, im good with lights but not that good at plant defs. Did it get over watered? If you water too much it wont uptake iron which i believe looks similar, yellowing leaves with green veins. Its called interveinal clorosis i believe.

Well it is in coco, but I wonder if it was sitting in some of the runoff before I repotted.
I'll give it a spray with 1/4 strength nuts with a bit of calmag and see if that helps

That's a VPD issue! 50% at 85°F means 1,66-1,88kpa with 1-2° less leaf temps!
The burned tips are from excess calcium and too much of this immobile element locks out other metals like potassium, phosphor, manganese and of course magnesium.

This video explains what will happen and how it looks like.

Yeah, there are already a few symptomes visible and its hard to say if you have no idea what the reason could be. But I'm sure its because of the high VPD. ~1,6kpa is maximum and only used in the last few weeks in the flowering stage. Untill end of the stretch the VPD should be ~1,2-1,3kpa, but with 85°C ambient(2° less leaf temps) the VPD is already 1,9kpa.
But lets try to figure out what visible..
The dry leaf tips are 100% from excess calcium(an zinc deficit takes longer), the clouds between the dark veins are from a magnesium deficit(iron looks more yellow), the twisted fingers are from beginning phosphor deficit and the dry jags on the leaf margins are from not blocked potassium.
All these are metals and locked out from excess calcium.

You transplanted up, and one of your plants struggled - which suggests there is more than one plant and the others are doing better?

If so, what is different about this plant compared to the others (was it bigger/smaller to begin with; different strain; did it get more/less water/nutrient; more/less light; more/less heat etc)?

Did the issue show up as soon as you transplanted, or after some time?

What are you feeding them and have you been feeding (watering) every day?

Are you using that Hygen 30% perlite mix coco?

85f is max, probably closer to high 70s, but I haven't helped things by putting a 15" oscillating fan in there either now have I.

Looks like I need to buy a hygrometer !

So I have flushed heavily again with half strength nutes, and mixed up a foliar of a 4n1 essential additives- iron, nitrogen, cal and mag.

I'll remove the big fan, and let the collection tray keep 15mm of water in it to help increase humidity.

Strange why only one out of the 4 is affected! the other 3 are cranking it.
