right guys. i have several plants growing. between 2 foot annd 3 foot tall. been in 12/12 for 5 weeks today.

4 of the taller plants are still not showing and sex at all. where as all the others are well on their way growing nice buds.

what could be the problem here? i dont think ive heard of any strains that could take this long to show sexing.

thanks for any help,
danny

i regulary change the position of all the plants, so any on the left side will be changed to the right side. and same with top to bottom.
no light leaks as far as im aware. and like i say the others are filling out nicely.

the problem i have is the ones that havent sexed yet are growing way too tall. and just keep growing as if the are in veg mode still. but like i say, no light leaks as far as im aware. lights go off at 7 so will pop up again.

yeah 5 weeks. not auto flowering. i made a mistake of not labelling them at seed stage so they could be wonder woman, 4way or blue mystic.

either way, all the others have either been chopped due to having testicles or are well on their way to a decent harvest.

just gone up and checked to see if their is a light leak, and there isnt. pure darkness. except for a small glow at the door frame which is at the other end of the room.

so no ideas then why it could be taking so long? im a little afraid i could end up having to chop em as they will be too tallwhen i start my next crop...

vegged em for 3 wks maybe?? had to flip em 12 early due to neighbours hearing too much noise at night time. fans etc.

i cant see why these few are like this, yet the rest are fine.

baffling!!

you either have a light leak, or a pure tropical like sativa that wont bud untill she is damn good and ready.

so a pure trop sativa. worth waiting for? its defo a sativa, tall spindly, long thin leaves.
plenty of branches and bud sites. but height problems could arise if its gonna get much bigger. could maybe handle another 8-10 inches or so. im already bending slightly to keep canopy level. infact, i bet if i left it it could be close to 5 foot now.

hate to have to chop him/her...

She seems sativa for sure. If you're having space issues now, you'll be freaking out in 2 months.
She's still vegging tho, you could cut it back drastically and start training, it's still gonna produce a fair amount of plant before it's done. From the time she decides it's time to flower she will easily double in height, if not triple, so don't be afraid to cut if it looks like she's gonna hit the roof.

double.....triple in size!!! dayyyym!!! if it was summer it could of gone out side but its way too cold for it now.

when you say cut it, what style of cutting do you mean? as in taking cuttings for cloning? or chop it in half so to speak? ive done cloning before but never had this problem before.

what about if i bend and bend and bend so its almost horizontal? then let it grow upwards from a laid down position??? i know that would open up alot of bud sites, and even if it reached 6 foot i would be ok but only horizontally. what do you reckon??

(also a side question, ive recently took cuttings off 5 blueberry mothers. where ive cut the cutting away from the mothers branch, will two shoots grow out from that? or just one? and how long before i see regrowth?)

thanks for both questions...

Regarding the blueberry, where you cut it is where the branch stops. the node before you made the cut will start growing out 2 new stems.

And yes, I was kinda implying hacking the sativa in half or whatever will make it easier to manage. I know my first sativa grow was an eye opener, turned a 12" clone on 12/12 and by the time she made the switch and was done flowering I had a 4 footer.

so hacking in two.. there will be no main cola then will there? guess its better than losing the whole thing aaye!

does any body know of any links of showing pre-cloning and after the regrowth has started? just want to make sure ive done everything ok.

Hm, some tropical sativas needs 12-14 weeks of veg until they start flowering, with a relative short flower period. Could be that you're growing a plant that's more suited for outdoor. Equatorial strains flower cycle doesn't follow the light cycle of "temperate" strains, but have an "inbuilt" mechanism that predetermines the flower period. Well, as far as I've understood, anyways.

ive bent over the unkown sexed sativas rahter than hacking them in half. ive also lifted up the lights as well as adding a extra 600w HPS. hopefully the girls will like it!! plenty more space now!!

i currently grow in soil, and hauling a lot of water to the grow room. does any one have any solutions to this? i was thinking a hose pipe for the time been with a sprayer gun on the end, but thats only good at the moment as im flushing them for the harvest soon.

any solutions for when im using nutrients etc...

what kind of lights are you growing with? could be stretching and refusing to flower because you have weak lights.

3 x 600w HPS, deffo not strecthing.. there about a foot away from the tops, less in some places and a fan constantly keeping all plants cool and from burning!
