I know each strain is different, but should I be flushing at this point? I'm on day 42.... My white widows are going to be a while I can tell because the FI's bud production and trichs are so much more advanced. Both the GF Kush and the FI look 'almost' ready. I haven't used molasses and haven't flushed, I read some shit from Panhead thats got my mind all confused if I should flush or not to flush. I don't think the nutes I'm giving it are supposed to leave any flavour. I am unsure why flush? Does Mollasses add girth to the buds? Or is it strictly a flovour thing. Its getting to that point and time for me to think of my options here. I'm going to take a little photo session here and upload in a sec, tell me what you think. And yeah I'll get one of those microscope things everyone's been telling me to get at radioshack....
FI.... I give it another 2 weeks before chop, what you think?

GF Kush 2-3 more weeks?

White Widow 3-4 more weeks

white widow - 2-3 more weeks

family photo (mylar makes it look weird, yellow leafs pissing me off)

morning buddy. ya got a microscope yet? they sell em at radioshack less than $20 bucks. I use that to tell me when to harvest. I use the weeks that the seed dealers recommend as a guideline only....it is not absolutely necessary to have a scope, but it sure helps!! :)

Usual feed - 1 tsp tiger bloom, 1 tsp big bloom (per gallon)
This feed - 1 tsp big bloom, 2 tsp tiger bloom, 1/4 tsp advanced nutrients overdrive (mixed all together ph at 6.3) (I know overdrive is hot, but at an 1/8 strength, think it'll be ok, were at week 6 here, they recommend 2 tsp a gallon, I did 1/4 tsp, don't know if its even going to help) I want these buds to fatten up!
Comments, concerns? :neutral::joint::peace:

The last line there is the important one. Check your trichomes and you'll know when to start flushing. You could've been using molasses all the way through flower so you may as well add that. As far as flushing you should start flushing when you see the first amber trichomes appearing. Then chop them down whenever you see fit based on the trichomes, not based on your desire to chop them down. Since this is your first time I would suggest chopping them down one at a time and let one go a week longer than the other, then another go another week so that you can really see the difference between different harvest times.
What is the advantage of molasses? Will it girth up my buds, or is it for flavor? I'll get that scope today or tomorrow, I'm thinking that FI's almost ready. Does anyone keep them dark 48 hours before the chop? Doog, you gonna come smoke some this with me??

ok....
so, I add 1-2 tsps in conjunction with my other mix? This next mix is a bit hot anyway, maybe try next feed? isn't there plentiful amounts of sugar in my current nutrients?
Theres a whole whack of info on sugars and carboload products..etc.. I'm seeing an obvious size increase, and as this post asks..I'd say a 25g top is better than a 10g top... so yes.. plus the molasses is good food for needed bacteria in the soils..
Kinda sold me. thats a 75% increase to a top cola. May be a bit exaggerated, but sold me on it. I'll pick some up with the scope on Thursday (payday).

Doog I see you were using about 2 drops of superthrive every feed. Is that like overdrive? And wouldn't 2 drops fill a 1/4tsp just about? I don't want to burn em, but I could use a little more girth, is why I added mollases and overdrive, I feel at such a insanely small dose there couldn't be reason they'd burn.

Molasses and superthrive aren't nutrients. You won't get burns from them. Now overdrive, that's DEFINITELY hot stuff and you want to be careful with it. Don't worry so much, they are going to pack on weight and girth. It's common at about this stage to start worrying about it too much. They still look really immature and look like they have plenty of time left.

Doog you are my mentor and not here for me tonight. ErRRRRRR!! Guess you have a life :) I'm giving them the nute mix stated before, I was hoping for approval from you, but gotta do it myself sometime. Dr Greenhorn is the next best thing for advice. I owe both of ya's. Anyway here it goes, doin it. . . . . .

hey bro, I use superthrive, only during veg though. you can use it during flowering but it tends to make the plants take longer to finish and it causes excessive stretching if used during flowering. it is good used during veg. though. I don't talk about it much cause it is a very controversial product....

The only thing that I would worry about here is that you doubled the amount of Tiger Bloom....any reason or just because? If the plant isn't asking for it at this stage you shouldn't do it. Stick to what's been working. Adding more nutes doesn't make bigger nugz...gotta remember that. You might try adding 1/2 tsp or so, but I wouldn't just arbitrarily double it. If you really wanted try to use a bloom enhancer (which I don't suggest on your first grow) you should go with Cha Ching. It works well with the Fox Farms nutes. If you're hell bent on going crazy and not worried about losing your crop you could also try Gravity...that one can be really gnarly and fun, but I would try it on just one plant at 1/4 strength. That stuff is HOT, but it definitely makes the flowers explode.
