5 minutes

Apparently,

Obama has 5 minutes between the changing of the congress to try to jam through a recess supreme court appointment.

Do you think he has the audacity to try it and secondly, do you think it would stand?

The audacity to appoint a Supreme Court Justice as stated in the Constitution? Oh horrors!
The ability to make recess appointments was for the president to get people in positions in a hurry in an emergency. It was not created so the president could jam someone into office against congress's wishes. Especially because neither the current congress, nor the future congress would approve the appointment.

So yeah, it is kind of horrific for a president to consider it.

More horrific than appointing a pro life judge that could back track on Roe V. Wade and take away a woman's control over her own body?

I dont think the government should have the right to decide what happens between a woman and her doctor.

You are happy wearing the collar of your current master in some great fear that you might have to wear the collar of a different master not realizing you are still wearing a collar.

Hey we agree on something that is interesting. I always thought most republicans were staunch in their positions on taking away a woman's right to choose. I think Trump openly feels that way. Or he just lied about feeling that way to get elected.

I dont agree with Trump's position on stop and frisk or a number of other policies. I dont think he is going to take away abortion from women, that isnt what he ever said nor how he feels about it.

Trump will decide his position based on what is best for him. Trump does not respect women. He will move on them like a bitch.

I distinctly remember an interview where he talked about punishing women for getting abortions. Seemed clear to me.
Best thing about Trump is his ideas on things appear so mailable. It just depends who the last person he talked to is regarding what he says on an issue. The down side of that is he regularly talks to Putin.

The right of the President to make SCOTUS appointments is clearly defined in the Constitution.

You suck at this.

Yes, but it didn't feel like that was what he meant.

The president makes an appointment and the congress approves the appointment.

You are excellent at viewing only one side of an argument. Are you a cyclops?

I seem to remember Hillary Clinton handing the Russians a button mistakenly labelled 'Overcharge' and sucking up to them. Where was all your disdain when that was happening? In fact, the knives didnt come out until the DNC emails were released... Seems politics is more important that global relations in the Obama Whitehouse.

You are excellent at twisting words and meanings to suit your view despite it's obvious violation of The Constitution.

You, like @Flaming Pie , are disingenuous. Neither of you respect America.

So you contend that the founding fathers intended to grant one wing of the government the power to negate another through inaction? You are delusional. No, you are just a liar.

Listening to a point about X and then saying "but Y is also true" does nothing to discount the fact about X.
Trump said, with his mouth, that women having abortions should be punished.
How do you feel about that? Pretty despicable if you ask me.
