5 gallon bucket outdoors..

Hello RIU!
It's been quite a while since I've posted here, as well as quite some time between harvests.

I'm back now, and better than ever and have my 400 watt tent up and running again! I currently have two unknown cannabis seeds growing (amongst several vegetables that will be outside in 3 weeks)

One of the seeds, who I'm almost positive was a seed from a friend's special phenotype Oklahoma bubblegum and og kush cross, is growing well. So well in fact that I have already transplanted from the solo cup to a 5 gallon bucket after 3 weeks.

However, the second seed which has truly unknown (unremembered) origins is slow and sluggish and small.

I'm contemplating putting this sucker in a 5 gallon bucket and making it a highly controlled out door plant.

My question is whether or not it is worth the effort to keep this plant separate. I understand the adage the more the roots, the bigger the shoots. I'm wondering whether or not a plant confined to a 5 gallon bucket would perform much better under the sun...
I mean, 400 watts vs solar energy is a huge difference....
I would expect it to outperform the more vigorous plant I intend to grow to maturity under HID.

What's everyone's thoughts..? Worth the effort to keep it separate (and take serious means to prevent bringing outside bugs into my tent)
Or no, just pick either outdoor in the ground, or inside in a bucket.

I look forward to hearing from some of the more seasoned growers.

Okay.
Disregard all of my questions in the original post.
I will be growing a girl in a bucket this season and will update this as my journal.
Will update as noteworthy progress happens!
