4x8 Grow setup advice.

Alright guys I have another I'm starting at the same time. I have a 2x4 setup and a 4x8 setup. Right now I'm focused on the 4x8 because the 2x4 is already good.

Here's what I have for the 4x8 so far.
Lights - 2x HLG 600w R-spec
Medium - FFOF, FFHF, FF coco Loco mix with added perlite, additional ewc and some added dolomite. Super Soil Concentrate with microbes added at the bottom for flower.

No nutes all water for the most part. No Phing my water. Just watering with water/molasses from time to time to feed the soil. I have dry amendments from the Down to Earth brand 4-4-4 and 4-8-4 on hand if needed later on.

How many plants do you all think I can run with this setup and how much yield is theoretically possible with this light setup?

Yields and number of plants will depend on a few things - Strain and genetics. lighting, growing method ...

HLG make very good units so you have one of those factors covered nicely.

The method you plan on growing with - Sea Of Green (SOG), manifolding, FIM, topping, Screen of Green (SCROG) - and how much of that 4 x 8 area are you going to use for plants. I use the SCROG method to grow 2 plants and use all 8 square feet of my 2 x 4. Yields have been close to the 3/4 lb. mark. And I grow with blurples that are nearly 2 years old. That generation of blurples are a bit "skimpier" on the red end of the spectrum. Those HLG's will do a much better job.

The size and type of pots can affect your yields. 5 gallon, 7 gallon, 10 gallon, plastic or fabric. Bigger is always better with these ladies - the bigger the roots the bigger the fruits.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this to for just flower area, and my idea is like yours get 2 of the HLG600, or wait for the new HLG trinity light, Use 36 of floraflex 8” pots for drain to waste, a 3x6 flood try and a 3x6 tray stand. Get a 8” hyperfan and a carbon filter to go along with that, and about 4 fans to give the plants some nice air flow. And call it a day. I’ve been running 5 (5gal) cloth pots per 4x4 and feel that the yield is a lot less then running 16 plants in 1gal cloth pots.

I am aiming for 4 weeks veg with drain to waste, but currently ive been running my small pots in soil for 8 weeks on vegs because i dont have enough room, making them about 3 feet tall with daily hand waters. I have also been running low yielding strains recently so my gram per watt sucks. I think i estimated for a 4x8 to cost around 90-100$ per month not including cost for tents and everything

... How many plants can I fit in a 4x8 tent with 7 gallon pots? I’m thinking about 10? ...
Well ... if you have the 7 gallon pots, I get the sense that you want to let them veg longer and get lots of bud sites before you flip? If so, 8 might be a better number. 10 would be too many if you intend on growing big and prosperous plants.

Understood. I appreciate that advice. How long is a good veg cycle for a 7 gallon. My oldest one is currently going on 5 weeks. I’m thinking of lsttting it veg for 2-3 more weeks

Square foot wise you could fit 9 in each square like a tic tac toe board so 18 total technically, but w bigger plants I would say two deep x five wide? So ten plants ?

... This was done in a 4x8 tray with 6 X 315's above. 7 Plants .. 5 in 7 gallons .. 2 in 5 gallons ...
Wow ... your room is nicely loaded with those proverbial Donkey Dicks. Very yum!!!

Appreciate your visual demonstration - this is why you don't overcrowd the room if you want to grow big plants.

I presume you are chopping soon ... interested to know what you get when all drying and curing is done.
