4x4 tent how many plants with 400w hps?

Ive got a 4x4 (120x120cm) tent for flowering and i was planning on starting a continues grow that will harvest every month. For that i need a clone chamber, veg and mother plant tent and a flowering tent, and in the flowering tent there will be 3 batches with 4 weeks apart. I take new clones every month and root them about 2 weeks in the clone chamber. I then move them to the veg tent and veg them for 4 weeks. then i move them to the flowering tent under a 400w hps for 4 weeks. then every 4 weeks i move everything one step forward till its harvest time. and i was wondering how many plants i could harvest every month in that tent with a 400w hps. was thinking about 4 but that can be kinda tight if i have 3 batches at a time. but i have 125w cfl that i could put on the first 4 plants that come in to the flowering tent and then after 4 weeks move them under the hps with the almost ready plants.

youll have to cut veg time down or down the amount of plants. I dont know what strain your growing but if i tried 12 plants vegged for one month under a 400 i would run out of space quick unless they were all lollipopped and even that would be cutting it. If i have a plant with 1 month veg and once its done streach i can barley fit 1 plant in a 2x2 area in a 3 gal pot.

maybe your right could try with 2 or 3 weeks veg first and see how its going but what do you think about the lightning is it enoug?

if its well reflected yes, a 400 with a 125 cfl should light that area well.

I use a 4x4x6.5 tent with a 600w HPS and 200w CFL and its just enough light for that size tent. I'm going to upgrade to a 1k.

You can def get by with a 400w, but I would suggest at least a 600w for that size tent if you can swing it. Just my 2 cents.

I've got a 1k hps in my 4x4 and it sometimes seems like I need more. I've added a 300w LED. I don't think a 400 hps would light that size sufficiently or efficiently.

I agree, A 600 would work great if you had a giant reflector. One more 400 would be ideal though. more points of light + less shadowing= bigger harvest. Also I have had 36 in a 4x4. They where all in 1.8gal rose pots. It was an awesome setup. So I would start 9 every two weeks. worked out pretty well. Keep em vertical!

someday in the future im gonna invest in one more 400w hps but for now im gonna try with what i have.

You may want to look into a vertical system depending on how many plants or what type of system your tying to do!
