4x4 closet w/ 400W MH/HPS adj

There's a number of things holding them back.

For example, two of them are in the same 5 gal. pot.

They are not all the same height so the light is too far away from all but one of the colas.

I wasn't really using nutrients until like 2nd week of flowering because of the MG time release soil.

They are bagseed, so who knows what kind of buds these genetics produce.

Because it was my first grow, a few light and water stresses were inflicted upon them as well.

All in all, this grow has been a huge learning experience, along with all the reading I've been doing on RIU, and I'm confident my next grow will be even better (Auto AK47s from lowlife on the way). I'm just glad to have any buds at all and still expect to see a decent (not great by any means) harvest from this grow.

Also, it has now been 7 weeks from the switch to 12/12. The buds have been spitting out new pistils on their sides all week, so they are filling in. They might end up taking a week or two longer than hoped.

To deal with this, since I'm growing to avoid buying, I have selected the smallest/crappiest looking plant to be my supply as they still develop. I know it's prob stressing that plant and obviously hurting my end result, but I'd rather have something to smoke now and let the others keep going than have nothing to smoke at all. Plus, my next grow will only take around 70 days seed to harvest, so I'm hoping this first grow will supply me until then. I haven't been smoking at all until recently and plan on only smoking like a 8 grams a month so I should have plenty...even if i have underestimated.

So they are still going strong. Look like they are going to take a week or two extra, they aren't growing as fast but def still putting on bud and filling in. so why rush, ya know.

I'm ready to chop anytime though because...

My new seeds just came in today! I ordered late on a Friday and they got here today, like 10 days later, but probably would've been a week if I had ordered them on Monday. So I officially trust the Attitude. One concern is that the seeds look much smaller and less mature than seeds I'm used to seeing in the cheap bud I used to buy. So I hope they germinate for me.

Next grow will be 3 (if they all germ!) AK47 autoflowers from lowlife. I will also begin vegging a couple Barney's Red Dragon (and prob one of my three free DNA seeds) in my veg box while the autoflowers do their thing.

So it's getting closer. After a long look at them tonight, I decided to give them some more time. I'd like to harvest but I can tell it's just not quite time. I have prob 50% cloudy and the rest clear still on the trics.

Let me know how close you think they are...

So I harvested yesterday. They are hanging to dry for the next few days, then into jars to cure. Going to try to get moisture levels right so they don't turn to powder before I smoke them. This is for my personal use so I just grow some, then store it, grow some more and the idea is to run out about the time I harvest next, so it shouldn't be more than three or four months but I will be opening the jars from time to time.

Anyways, the last post for this journal will be the dry weight. I'll post that in a few days before they go into their jars.


Edit: obviously this is before I hung them up and before I finished trimming.

just by looking at your set up pics, i would suggest moving your ballast away from your plants...that will help with some of your heat issues...

i agree with this, plus you run the risk of getting it wet when you do your waterings, maybe put it on a stand or something.

Just to close this grow journal down, the dry weight on that harvest turned out to me 98.6g from three plants. I had been plucking little buds off one of them for a while, but still I got a lot more than I thought I would.

I accidentally turned the heater in the room I was drying them in too high ( I was also germinating some seeds in the same room, haha) and it got too hot over one night and dried them quicker than I had hoped. I put them in jars with some wet leaves from trimming and they moistened back up somewhat. They are curing now.

Thanks for everybody's input on this grow. I've already planted three feminised autoflowering AK47's from lowlife. They are just about to put their little heads up over the soil, so my next grow is under way. The nice thing is that I'm hopefully about 70 days from my next harvest with these girls! Not bad at all. Should produce about 3 more O's too.

Just as another follow up for my first grow...

I've been smoking the stuff for a couple weeks now. It is still more harsh than I would like it to be. I've mainly been smoking the stuff that dried out too much though, so I'm hoping that's the reason and not just the plants in general.

Going to put a few little buds in a jar with a couple orange rinds this week and see if that helps the flavor and smoke.

Still, I'm getting real nice and high off just a couple small bowls a night...so I have more than I need! Considering I'm only a couple months from my next harvest already...with the next harvest (Barney's Red Dragon) already growing/vegging to go into flower as soon as I harvest the auto AKs. So I'm excited about this year, haha.
