Maybe try to find some solid gauge or smaller gauge strand? Do you know the AWG gauge size on the wiring you are using?
Thank you. I think 14, I just got some 16 and it seems smaller.

The best way to make a stranded wire work with a push-in type connector is to twist the strands tightly and tin the twisted strands with solder before making the connection. That will keep the wires all together for a nice clean connection.
This is what I'll do then. Thanks again Mike!

Any word on how exactly to wire the power for the fans and the driver together for one wall plug?
I like to use a terminal block similar to this:

They are available in different sizes and lengths. What you really need is a mini bus bar. It's easy to make one with a terminal strip. You just cut & strip small jumper wires to connect all of one side of the terminal block. Do that for both the line and the neutral. That provides several points to connect your loads to. You can do the same thing with the output of your fan driver only it would be power and ground rather than line and neutral. If you mount the terminal block nearest to the center of your light as possible you can keep the wires to the drivers and fans short.

Also, as Abiqua suggested I picked up some ideal push fittings. Can I just use those to splice everything together?

I used them to splice all of the red and black wires of the fans into the fan power already.. I think I'm just nervous about finishing this perfectly.

this diagram that another member mapped out for me shows which wire leads to which prong. Now I just need to know which of the two flat prongs (black or white wires in this case) get spliced into which a/c wire. I have a brown wire for the ACL and a blue wire for the ACN. So my question is, black to brown or black to blue??

^ I am interested in the cord situation, but don't know specifically because that is above my pay grade.....is it a 220v cord? That's what it looks like with the extra ground or N....

Of the two flat connectors on the plug one is wider than the other. The wide one is the neutral or white wire. The narrow one is the line or black wire.

file it under 'extra pieces' and cut it flush with the insulation. Never seen one of those on any of the cords I've worked with.

I'll post another couple pics of it once I hang it and after I put up the I/R blocker as a sort of reflector. Maybe not the most efficient, but it'll keep all of the light down towards the canopy and cover the wires for the most part

I am eventually going to replace four shite blackstar led's all together, starting with my largest cab where I flower my girls.

I also have two other cabs for veg and pre flower veg that will eventually get updated as well.

This thread will serve as my own guide into taking the plunge into diy lightning as well as a place for me to ask questions of knowledgeable folks regarding my particular setup.

Let's discuss the materials:

10x cree cxa3070's

10x arctic 11 plus coolers w/ fans

Either 2x HLG-185H-C1400A (5 COBs on each)

Or 10x 85-265V fasttech 50W (1 per COB)

I have a box full of 12v dc adapters that I can use for the fans.

I still need to get a solder iron, wire, and solder I would like to get some recommendations in this department.

I actually haven't purchased anything as of today. I'm mostly waiting on some funds from two of the blackstar chrome leds I'm trying to part with.

I think I have a good source for the cxa's I want to use so I had better jump on that quick.

Pics of the space that I want to fill and talk of designs are to come later tonight.

Stay tuned.
Hurry and post those pics brochacho! I'd like to see what a man can do with a little ninja-nuity
