What up ROI world. This is my 5th attempt to write a decent post.

Im setting up an 4x8x whatever tent. Im wanting to be a penny pincher and try to run two (2) 4vs

My hope is that I can get a decent yield with this until im able to use it for its true purpose as an veg tent.

By the way this is my first "major" setup and the lights has my head hurting. :eyesmoke:

I am just a newbie, I am still getting used to the lights, every grow is a new experience. I will say they are a powerful light and 2 4VS's in veg would probably do it, however in flower I feel your yield will suffer. Ample power but will be lacking the coverage that the Redwood would provide.

The way I look at it @RainDan and his crew designed with good purpose and designed for their respective spaces. If I was doing it I would go Redwood. I know your talking $1080 compared to $1600, if your willing to go this far why hold back now? Trust me when I bought my first Timber I kinda of regretted it, now I feel it was money well spent.

Which ever you choose, your going to make a fine purchase. If I were you I would contact Dan, it is probably best to email him at this crazy time, he gets back to you quick, and gives honest information.

Thank you for the reply !

It is my understanding that the redwood is the optimum choose. That thing looks like it kicks ass. My only thing that this will be a veg tent eventually and I don’t want to foot the bill where it not “absolutely” needed.

Maybe I could focus the two 4vs towards the center of the tent (move them off center) and the edges will just be a bit weaker?? This tent will actually be for growing veggies and other seedlings until they can move outside. I’m just trying to get a Cannabis crop out of it here and there.

My advice would be to re design what you thinking you want. See if Timber can get you 4 of these bars and hang them 2 feet on center and it would cover a 4x8 table or a 4x8 canopy how ever you want. I got these in the pic from Timber and they are completely awesome. 250 watts each Dim down to whatever!!!

That is pretty slick! Didnt know they would do custom builds.

Im sure you already know Dan is a beast and super easy to talk too. Im still looking for 1 more 5 cob bar too, so if you see him let him know.
Never did business with Dan. Just really liked my diy cob's. Cobs grow nice plants.
Changed it up this time with some boards. Hopefully im not disappointed

We will see how it goes. Still have my cob rig on standby.
Im sure you'll do great. What did you get? I tried the 2 600's in almost a 4x8. Wife made me bench the boards for the cobs over the flood table. She swears more of this weird looking fox tailing going on is from the boards. I told her she was nuts I just ran them wrong.

I have one of the new hlg qb648's going, about 2 weeks into veg. Second board and some aluminum angle is on its way.
Its in a 2x2.5' tent but will be a 3x3 pretty soon. Just a hobby grower for myself

That sounds proper. I have a 2x2.5 at the moment with some cheap leds

After being inspired by @Boatguy I choose to spend the last day smoking and and studying on these boards vs cob deal. I have decided to dial back the foot print of this tent and focus more on shelving and lower watt boards. The HLG 65 V2 (This) setup has really caught my eye. The ease and efficiency are the top two ticks.
Im thinking an 2x4x5 tent with two or three level shelving. One board per growing surface. Also needing ideas on how to go about having these light in between shelves and avoiding water damage ;' ). Yeah I know....
Instead of trying to spend more money and look stupid until I get a return. I might as well just be honest with myself. I only need a veg station at this very moment. So the name of the post is misleading at this point.
