Never use a paper towel. tap roots can get stuck to it and tear the root and then the seed is done. Soak seeds in a cup of water for 2 -4 days til you see a tap root the length of the seed. Then plant. Also after first day stir water to make seeds sink.. The ones that still float, most of the time they are no good.

2 of mine that died never popped out of the soil so technically they never sprouted. If its an issue I will stick with the 3 and still win.

Well that's grower error that they didn't germ;)....

There were others awhile back who spoke of germing more seeds. In the end I guess if someone germed more seeds,we wouldn't know about it unless they said something...SOOO I guess I really doesn't matter.:):)

Didn't mean to stir up trouble or any hard feelings by foot,I guess I'm just pissed I almost killed mine and wanted to start over!Never know if I get a female she might be a beast.Mine are almost a month old, they should be huge!

okay first 24 hrs in water/ h2o2 water mix. then paper towels 1-3 days damp in dark area also. then tap roots are hanging plant them 1/2 inch down. 100% every time. period. no tap roots when going into soil no grow is my look on it. so leave in paper towel till tap root shows.
I leave them in the paper towel till it sprouts completely out of the seed.Works every time.I'm probably close to %100 germination rate, not quite but close.Paper towel on top of the cablebox for a little warmth, works like a charm!

Just use cheap paper towels,if the root is still stuck just rip the towel with the root,it'll still grow just fine with a little piece of paper towel on it.:)peace

never lost a single seed to that method. never. outdoor growing always started indoors with germ. small pots 2x2 inch pots 4 inch deep. dig 3x3x3 ft hole. mix in all and plant. always got great yeild but not like i see with this supercropping lst scrogging. but dam good yields. so i never had a seed i say again never had a seed not grow a tap root this way.

This I like..
Kinda took the words from my keypad..

I started with one seed, if I couldn't make it work, then its a skill set issue, not any other issue..
If I screw the one up, then its over...

some of you need to stop talking gibberish, and start growing..
Have a good night ya'll.....

That's what I'm sayin....if my five had died I would have been out.....BUT my skills have brought them back!:)

I'm not gonna go back through all the bullshitting but growers were talking like they could germ over and over and that's not cool....whatever GOOD LUCK GROWERS!!!

@Sir yes sir, one seed is a gamble. I popped 30 and narrowed it down to 26. Those four that didn't make it were not bad due to lack of skill...get yo facts right. You're starting to sound like $hyloot$

I used to use the paper towel method, which worked pretty well, but was a little delicate getting into soil, sometimes when the taproot grew too long. But I digress.

My current germ method is super simple: seeds in balanced H20 for 12-24 hrs, then right into my soil mix, into a 4" pot (or 16oz Solo cup). I sit them on a seedling heating mat until they pop thru the soil. I have good success with this method, and don't have to work around the delicate tap root.

I put mine in root riot now after the tap root shows. just split it open drop in take a peace from the side lay on top of split and leave in dome on heat mat at 80 degree with lots of humidity till i see good roots sticking out and the plant is at least 1 inch tall then into the soil they go cube and all i might start letting them stretch a bit more and get more nodes so i can do training. something i see allot of you doing. but for this comp i first have to find the cup my time is running out fast.

I do the paper towel way because it's a way to cull out the bad ones without going thru the trouble of planting one and it not pop.Even if the root gets stuck and you break the root a little(a little, not in half) it'll still sprout. It's happened to me a few times.

For instance...Last crop I germed 75 seeds,72 popped open and were put in solos, ended up with 37 females.

Now if I had germed all 75 in solo cups it would not as been as successful 72/75,I guarantee!:)

I'm not real good at explaining stuff but y'all get what I'm sayin'.If I had germed 75 seeds in cups and 5,10,15 or more didn't sprout,I just wasted my time and effort with those that didn't pop.I know what I'm getting,I do the same thing with pepper and tomato seeds.GL
