does the color of the backround that the bud or leaves are sitting on effect the clarity? Or the amount of light in the room?

I'd guess at least 50% of the folks who bought the RadShack model initially wanted to throw the thing against a wall, or return it . . . I know I did . . . until I took the advice to snip. Works very well after you figure it out. Mine eats batteries, so you might wanna turn it off between views and get extra batteries.
I can't see well enough thru a 30X loupe.

Hey guys just picked up that radioshack miniscope. Works amazing! but you are right if you make a snip then put it on the table, if you try to hold it on the bud impossible! but what microscope out their can you have any movement and still see personally i would rather be sitting at a table comfortability and see what i'm doing, i just like to be concentrated in detail on something rather than standing trying to hold still just doesnt make sense!
