I was wondering if anyone has used this product. I have been growing in soil using 4.3gallon Airpots for over a year now and they work ok, I have never had a root issue but I dont like the way you have to water an Airpot because if you water to fast the water shoots out the air holes.

I went ahead and ordered 6 of these in the 5gallon size and I think im going to give it a try, just wondering if anyone has tried these, seems simple and I think I can save on RO water and nutes.

Thanks: Stlmatt

i don't use that specific product , no , but i use a wick system which is what that system is .. not sure if you will save nutes and water , plants will use what they need. Big plants drink more.

Thanks for the reply, I understand how it works was just wondering if anyone here has used this product. I think it would save on water and nutes as the water held in the lower tank section will get used by the plant as compaired to the water that drains from my Airpots into a drainpan and then gets dumped out or evaps away. Plus with all the holes in the Airpot the soil dries out pretty fast....I dont see this issue happening with these. I am going to give them a try and will journal my review

I understand what you mean by wasting all that water ... you will save a lot in that way

let me know what you think of them. i've been thinking about these for a few weeks now. currently i'm growing using dwc and i was considering switching to dirt. so please let me know if they work and if they really grow 50% faster then hydro

I doubt if they grow plants 50% faster....but I do think they will keep growers from over watering and should reduce the amount of water/nutes used as compaired to a top fed pot that drains well. I got them in yesterday and they seem to be well made. I am going to give them a try as I just finished my last grow a few weeks ago.

i dont really get the concept of how it works. Is there just a reservoir underneath that holds the water, so it feeds from bottom up?
Could probably make one of these as well

I have posted a few pics of what the system looks like, as you can see in the pics the main pot as a small shelf made into it about 1.5 inches from the bottom. This shelf also has several drain holes that keep the container from getting overfilled. The insert with the fill tube has two recessed areas that when in place sit in the bottom of the water holding area. This insert also has several small holes in it so the plant can take up the water it needs.

I am ready to give these a try and will report on my findings. I see a few advantages to useing this system, over a standard pot or the Air-pots that I have been useing on my last few grows.
No over/under watering
No moist soil on top, top few inches stay dry (eliminating the breeding area for gnats and other pest)
Use less water and nutes as compaired to the Airpots or fast draining containers.

Hey Fellow growers, sorry for not updating this post, but I had a computer crash and work has been kicking my ass. I had some really good photos for the 420 pots and the finished products, but I lost them in the crash;( These I took with my phone. Anyway I loved the 420 pots, the bottom watering is easy, clean and mess free as compaired to the Airpot. I yeilded 340 grams of Nirvanas PPP from 4 plants in 48x48x72 tent with a air cooled 600w MH/hps set up using organic soil and ferts.
The pic of the new plants are Nirvana Blackberry and Rasberry Cough, I have 2 and 2 in the 420 pots and 1 Blackberry in an airpot.....I am going to try and do all five if they dont outgrow the tent. I just flipped them today and I have them pretty well puined back so I am hoping they will have enough space.......and I can see if there is any difference between the Blackberry in the Air pot and the ones in the 420 pots. For the price and ease factor I cant seem to think of anything I dont like about the 420 grow system pots. I would love if someone made a combo of the two.......as I do think the air purning holes on the sides of the Airpots helps the soil and roots get air........but the top watering is a pain in the ass, as the water runs out the side holes. I am going to stay with the 420 grow system pots unless I find an issue or see a yeild problem.....but for now Im keeping it simple.

I will say the PPP is a nice smoke, three of the last 4 I grew were pretty much the same, a heavy smoke with a different taste....not as smooth as some of the other strains I have grown, but a good overall high.....50/50 head and body. (people that have tried it say its some of the best they ahve had.....but im use to having pleanty of great smoke, so I give it a B+)

I had 1 PPP that was more sativa than the others, stayed bright green the whole time and looked at if it could have went another week or two in flower, but I need the tent for drying so they all got the chop at the same time. This plant produced the best smoke I have ever grown, by far. It has a sweet taste that makes you smack you lips on every puff. I call it my go go weed, as it makes me want to get up and do something.......at least for a few hours anyway, doesnt seem to give me the munchies as bad either. Im not sure if it was a different phenom type, or something different all together.......it was the black sleep of the bunch for sure, but O is it nice.

Im curious if this system can be automated like an ebb and flow bucket system. Could i use an existing rez and adapt it to work with this system? What are the small lines, looks like drip water lines in pictures i have seen? Is that for a rez? Also could i use coco in the buckets?

I believe you can use coco. I saw these pots. And I was kicking myself in the ass because the entire reason I got a DWC tub was so that I never over or under watered, now I find that there was a system that would give me the same advantage and allow me to use coco. If I only know. If I only knew about these before getting my dwc set up I would have never gotten a dwc. Oh why didn't someone tell me. The main reason I think people in my position get dwc as new growers is because of the simplicity and not over or underwatering. Then I find out about these 420 things and I find out these do the same thing except better because theres no flushing every week and no electricity bill going up.
