That's 4.75 lbs, so about a pound short but pretty close. I must have missed that grow, what system did he use?

Dayum! Nice find!
Thanks, I thought so. To me it's a must see most exciting grow in ten years.

I really don't understand why more people aren't excited about it or saying anything.

I thought the shit would hit the fan and a dozen or more people would be trying it soon on here. Maybe some will but can't say anything, going big and just staying under the radar?

you wouldnt even have to do it this big... scaling down the wattage but using the same design could yeild amazing results

You could also scale it up, use those new 1500w HPS's and 1500w Halides and larger bins.

Set a new record...

The vertical open bulb layout using 360 degrees of direct light and the plant/bulb layout is half the other half is the hydro setup. It's not just DWC it's a specific high water flow recirculating DWC with containers that allow for a large root mass.

On the subject of cost of power and stupid big lights and bills:

Thanks to the economy, I now qualify as low income with my electric company. There is a fixed rate I can get on being under 35k I think it was, still working on it, but anyway you can get a flat reduced rate bill no matter how many thousands of watts you run it will be at the base rate per kw/h rather than going up the more you use like normal rates.

It may be something others could take advantage of... Check with your power company.

I am legal/medical. No worries about power consumption.

You can find 1500w halide ballast kits cheap if you look around, on ebay under 100 sometimes new. I didn't bid as low as $50...

Those have been around for a while now and the price is down. Mag ballasts...

HPS 1500 on the other hand there's only one ballast I'm aware of and it's digital, over $400 and $120 or something like that for ea basic 1500 hps bulb.

They'd pay for themselves though, in the right circumstances.

That's crazy... i sub'd this so i don't forget about it...

Hell, i'd be happy w/ a nice 1-2 plant setup like that... 8 lbs off 2 plants? Shit, i'd only have to grow once every 5 years or so... lol
